No other Greninja in the Sun and Moon anime series? Why not?

    Greninja has been crowned as the #1 most popular of Japan's Top 100 Pokémon during the Japanese promotion of Pokémon the Movie: Volcanion & the Mechanical Marvel. But sadly, the other Greninja than all of the ones that have appeared in the XY anime series have been written out from the Sun and Moon anime series? So, did you why you guys think? Whether or not many fans are concerned over it?

    What do you mean? Greninja is currently protecting kalos.

    Because Greninja isn't native to Alola.
     
    Please, it got enough pandering already. There's no need for it to return. Greninja isn't everyone's favorite #1 Pokemon
     
    Greninja isn't really relevant in SM, so it's not shocking that we haven't seen one. Fun fact: hundreds of other species of Pokemon with no purpose in SM haven't been showcased recently either. Why would we even need to see more Greninja shilling anyway, when XYZ was essentially all about Greninja already...

    Also, Ash's Greninja was released and he's not coming back anymore in my opinion. I'll believe he might come back when I see Ash's Pidgeot or Primeape coming back to the show, they haven't up until now otherwise Greninja will go through the same even if he's the most popular. They can always come up with something new so it doesn't mean they will need Ash's Greninja.

    No because Greninja has nothing to do with alola and has no purpose there. Not concerned at all.
     
    As everyone pretty much said, Greninja isn't a 7th Gen Pokemon so there's no point to be putting it in all the marketing for Sun & Moon. The point of every generation is that the marketing always focuses mostly on the new Pokemon at the time.
     
    Because the anime is a glorified commercial for the newest generation of games, showing off new pokémon and whatever new gimmicks are introduced

    -Could Mega Evolve, which was a Gen VI thing, hence why it was included

    The fact they didn't even bother showing any of Ash's non-Kanto Pokemon during the Kanto trip (20th Anniversary special) is a clue as to how much the show cares about continuity and bringing back older 'mons

    "Totodile and Corphish-"

    Who said they were Ash's? Did Totodile dance? Did either go to see their trainer? All they did was literally appear for a few frames, which is like shipping two characters together because they looked at each other
