Introduction
Welcome to the first round of Hack of the Year 2009! This first round shall consist of nominations; nominate who YOU think should move on to the Hack of the Year 2009 second round!Ineligible Hacks

- Pokémon rijonAdventures - winner of HotY 2008
- Pokémon Prism - winner of HotY 2007
- Pokémon Liquid Ocean - winner of HotY 2006
- Pokémon Naranja - winner of HotY 2005
- Pokémon Ice - winner of HotY 2004
Rules & Guidelines
- You may not vote for any of the Ineligible Hacks listed above.
- You may not vote for your own hack.
- You may not vote for more than one hack per category.
- You must complete every category for your vote to count.
- You may not vote based upon the author's personal record or progress; only the hack is being evaluated.
- Any posts that are not nominations or do not follow the rules will be deleted.
- Make sure that you have tried as many hacks as possible before you vote.
- Nominations last 11th October - 11th November
How to Vote
Nominations are slightly different this year; the hacks will be nominated upon a points-system. You may vote for an eligible hack in any of the following categories:
Best Mapping - the hack you think has the best mapping
Best Scripting - the hack you think has the most engaging scripting
Most Graphical Appeal - the hack you think is the best in terms of aesthetic appeal
Best Storyline - the hack you think holds the most interesting storyline
Most Engaging Hack - the hack you think has kept you on your toes the most
Overall Favorite - your overall favorite
For every category a hack is voted in, it gains one point. An example:
This vote is obviously not valid according to the rules, but if it were, the following point scores would be awarded: rijonAdventures 3; Liquid Ocean 2; ShinyGold 1. The top ten hacks with the most points are moved on to the second round. Hacks with the most points in a specific category will also win an award for that category (i.e. "Best Mapping" award, etc.) at the conclusion of the first round.John Smith's vote said:Best Mapping: rijonAdventures
