Noob at Pokemon

So I was collecting cards when I was like 10 and now I don't have a clue about current cards...So I have many of them and I don't know which are even good for sale. So I would like to know, which type(style) of cards is now usable.

I was going to show pictures so you would know what I mean, but i don't have 15 posts nad I can't put urls in my posts.

Well, in tournaments, the play legal sets are going to be Diamond and Pearl: Majestic Dawn and all sets printed after it once the sets get rotated out of the format, which is called "Modified". In some Leagues, but not all, you can play with an "unlimited" deck, but I wouldn't recommend it since most league players have a deck legal for Modified, and the decks legal for Modified tend to be very fast-paced decks that older cards wouldn't stand a chance against.

As for most of your older cards, you kinda missed the boat on their highest values to date, which were a few years ago when the economy was actually in pretty good shape still in most of the world. Most who still buy/play/collect already have the older cards they need or don't even bother with those to begin with, while others still - such as myself - would have to choose between buying old cards and just collecting or buying new cards and actually being able to play, too, because of limited budgets.
