So yeah... there you go. Hopefully they won't cause uh, as much as I enjoyed my last visit to South Korea, I really rather not go back for war. Plus I may be getting orders to go to South Korea soon too, unrelated to this event as I got them a week ago, but now... dunno if I want to go. XD

    N. Korea can destroy S. Korea so easily if the U.S. wasn't there to help S. Korea.

It's terrible news and if you go, you will need all the luck you need.

Great. I smell WWIII and a Korean Hitler. The Jews are the Americans and hopefully Mexico is the Australia.

    *gets baggage ready*

It wont be WW3, too many nations would just tell America, Russia, or China to fight it. They wont get in it.

Oh well, just I doubt they are they stupid. If they are, bye NKorea.

Here's the thing, the UN and US policy toward S. Korea has failed miserably. The time for talking and sanctions has long passed. Action needs to be taken, and soon. There is more than a good chance that S. Korea will implode into itself eventually, but the problem is that they have the potential to do some serious damage before that happens.

And so the tension rises again... might as well name this the New Cold War, I just hope it stays Cold.

Well its official. June sucked. If they do end such a truce then well trouble will brew. Otherwise I doubt it. All talk and no walk,.

    Weeell, this isn't good. :/

    the article said:
Defying international condemnation, the regime of Kim Jong-Il said it could no longer guarantee the safety of US and South Korean ships off its west coast and that the Korean peninsula was veering back to a state of war.
"Those who have provoked us will face unimaginable merciless punishment," the statement on the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said, blaming Washington and Seoul for the latest turn of events.

So...if the USA hadn't been snooping around looking for weapons or whatever it was in North Korea's ships we wouldn't be all tense now?

You really have a hard time understanding the severity of Nuclear Weapons.

Okay, the United Nations (I don't know how many times I have to say this) has issued a command that ANY North Korean ships suspected of carrying weapons, or other illegal items is to be searched. It's the fact that North Korea is suspected of selling illegal weapons to other countries. (Such as Iran)

Us "snooping" is to protect the entire world from being terrorized by illegal weapons being transported to where ever they are taking them to. Is it really that hard for you to understand?

Anyway, back to the topic -

NK is usually all talk, I guess we'll see in the future.

"Those who have provoked us will face unimaginable merciless punishment,"

    Oh?

"We will not apologize for our way of life, nor will we waver in its defense. . . our spirit is stronger and cannot be broken; you cannot outlast us, and we will defeat you."

—President Barack Obama, Inaugural Address, Jan. 2009

I always figured America was doomed anyway. :\

I had a feeling this would happen one day.
US has to act quickly, or it could have serious consequences.
NK has the ability inflict massive damage to us with their Nuclear Weapons,
so a war would be a last resort, since I don't think North Korea would think twice
about launching an atomic bomb on the US. If a war does break out, let's hope
    we're prepared.

Theoretically yes, but with N. Korea's reputation it would be a security risk not to do these searches. They are a danger to not only the US, but the world as a whole.
I always figured America was doomed anyway. :\
That is an exaggeration. Like I said before, N. Korea is doomed to destroy itself, they've put all their money into their military, and meanwhile their people are starving to death. A leader can't remain in power without the support of the people. That being said, as soon as N. Korea makes an attack on the US, their entire country is going to be leveled. However the concerns lie in exactly how much damage they can do before they are brought to an end. I promise you though, it will be far from enough damage to "doom us all". Chances are, it would be a missile launch on a coastal military base.

I know that i might take some flak for these next few comments but hey, we all are somewhat mature right?

Anyway i beleive that if the U.S can search and seize cargo off of N.Korean ships then N.Korea can do the same. You say that N.Korea has no right? Well then neither does the U.S.

The whole debate over nuclear weapons in N.Korea is spurred by fear... The fear that another country will become more powerful the then United States.

The U.S are preaching that no nation should be allowed to have nuclear weapons, while they have the largest amount of nuclear weapons.

The problem with the world is that there are to many double standards. Why should we be allowed to have the largest collection of nuclear weapons while another country can't even have anything that has nuclear in its name, say for instance a nuclear reactor?

The sooner that the U.S and U.N relize that they are now the world police the better.

If N.korea attacks us then we can bomb the hell out of them in retalliation and then N.korea wil be but a smoldering ruin. Until then we should not be halting N.Korea's advance into a stronger nation. If they attack, we attack. Simple as that.

In other news im glad that some U.S troops are returning from Iraq. We completed are mission, to oust the Iraqis leader, a long time ago. All other time spent there was to put down a group of freedom fighters who were trying to change their country, for what they beleived to be better? Wait... is it just me or does this sound something like what the Americans did back in the revolutionary war?

Yes i agree panicking won't get us anywhere. I'm sure the U.S. is smart enough to go on the defensive soon...that is i hope(i don't want to die just yet) anyway yes nuclear bombs are very lethal. I must say though I'd rather be where it hits than where it doesn't. Because I don't want to be fried by radiation(personal preference though) Ha ha imagine this...a guy calls you "how would you like to be done in? Quick baked or slow roasted?" Anyway I hope it is just a "cold" war. Lets hope it dosn't get put in the microwave and get nuked.

If N.Korea fires a nuke at us then we will just bomb them all to hell.

But the real problem is the fact that other... questionable nations (Russia, China ect ect) might take advantage of the suitation.

Okay I will repost for people who do not follow the news very well.

    1. NKorea can't even hit Japan with a bomb. How could they hit the U.S. without sneaking into the country, which is kind of hard now.
    2. Russia and China benefit from us way too much, they will not do anything to harm that relationship. If Russia did, millions in their country would starve without the food we give it. China would loose a lot, and that's an understatement, of money if they do anything to us. Also, they would also loose food and people would stave. They wont risk that. They are not stupid nations.
