Alright, so I looked at the new pokemon/forms thread and thought --

"In FR/LG there were no new pokemon since it wasn't a new generation. On the other hand, we most notably saw new moves such as the starter hyper beams. Moves that, in my view, weren't acsessible in R/S. (I understand they were probably implemented into the game and could be obtained by cheating." "

What new moves will we see in this Remake?(Discuss)

Hmmmm new moves. In FR/LG there were the elemental Hyper Beams so that may lead to there being new moves in HG/SS. I actually think there could be some (just some) new moves found in these games. But if there are I hope they aren't more Hyper Beam based moves. If thats the case then they should have just made one Hyper Beam for every type, which would be really annoying in my opinion.

I reckon the moves will be updated to match the current generation. It wouldn't make sense to leave the moves as they were in the second gen. It would make all the new graphics and other additions seem too over dated. Everything has to be kept up to date to keep it from losing its appealed.

New moves... Wouldn't that cause some problems when transferring them over to the other gen IV games?

Only new moves I remember in FR/LG

are Icicle Spear, Elemental Hyper Beams and Featherdance

Though I wouldn't mind seeing Zap Cannon variations

Like one for Burn ( I know we have Will-o-Wisp, But one that causes damage as well, and Frozen)

This is a remake, not a new game?
I'll keep saying this, I'm sorry. What did you mean by saying moves? Like 3/4 new moves? Or a whole new set of moves? Also it is a bit hard to "think of" which moves we will have, if we're gonna have.

BTW, FR/LG yes added new forms. 2 New Unown.

If there are new moves in Hg/Ss, chances are they'll be implemented into DPPt already anyway.

I know it's not really a new move, but I miss when DIVE would take you underwater. If they brought that back for some side quest or something in Kanto, I'd be pleased.

Well, part of the reason behind new moves being "created" in FrLg (even though technically they were still there in RS, just that no one available could learn them) was because there were many Pokemon that you could not catch in RS that you could in FrLg. That said, I don't think there will be any brand-new moves (and if there were, there'd be data for them in DPPt and some hacker would have found them, otherwise Pokemon knowing the new moves wouldn't be transferrable to DPPt without removing the moves), but it's very likely that Pokemon will have more additions to their movepools that they previously didn't have. I'm hoping that the old tutors/1st/2nd gen TMs that haven't been brought back yet will be brought back.

Maybe there's a tutor that teaches your starters the elemental hyper beams and it works for all final evolution starters since it worked in the manga

They have that in all Generation IV games so far, not just the manga. So yeah, probably.

Ugh..Look. Only thing new that could come out of hgss is formes. Otherwise any sort of new pokemon move or special move will not exist or ever come out of hgss as it is not programmed into dppt. I excluded items as they can simply be removed and forced into your bag.

I would have to say absolutely not to an Ice-based Zap Cannon-like move. 100% confusion, paralysis and burn (maybe even poison) are one thing with a move that also deals damage. But instant incapacitation via freezing and sleep-inducing while also taking damage... especially when its completely random when the Pokemon wakes up/thaws out... I know it would have low accuracy, but once it hit, you know the battle would be over and its that kind of cycle that Pokemon doesn't need any more of.

As for new moves, I kind of feel all that we will see added will be a number of Move Tutors for moves already in the game, much like we saw in FR/LG. Though I do hope that they allow us to use them more than once, this time... if I recall, FR/LG's Move Tutors only allowed you to use them once.

As for Elemental Hyper Beams, I doubt we'll see any more of those; I feel they only added them to Starter Pokemon so that they had semi-unique moves to utilise.

@ 11wildy: Look at FR/LG. They used the same 50 as R/S/E. HG/SS will no doubt do the same with D/P/Pt's TMs. Moves like Headbutt (which was a TM in G/S/C, I believe) will probably just have Tutors for them. (probably the guy who gave you the TM in G/S/C will be the Tutor in HG/SS)

I would imagine that these new moves would have already been found, like that Johto coding was. I still don't think we'll get any new moves. I agree with what Todoroki said.

    Flare Blitz Flareon NAO D:<
Other than some minor changes in movepools for some pokemon and maybe a couple of new moves (I'd like a 100% freeze move--what? We have one for burn (Will-O-Wisp), sleep (Hypnosis/Sleep Powder), poison (Toxic/Toxic Spikes) and paralyze (Thunder Wave). What's stopping them from freeze?) that have been pre-programmed into D/P/Pt as to prevent compatibility issues, I can't imagine anything amazingly WOWNEW.

But formes? That seems even less likely.
