noticing a pattern in the pokemon starters

Tepig Amazing pokemon one of the best evolution 1 pokemon starters Then we get pignite and everything goes downhill. So I've noticed a pattern for most of the starters they have an amazing first evolution and a terrible evolution 2 and 3 .Tepig is obviously the main one but there's some that Are even worse. oshawott is cute and huggable dewatt is cool looking sameraught is dumb and looks dumb and doesn't look cool at all it looks nothing like the 2 previous evolutions.Then we have popplio Then we have his 2 sisters who have been using way to much makeup and were both cosplaying a mermaid.If you don't see the pattern now I don't know what to do to convince you.
other ones I didn't name: chikirita, turtwig ,grookey and froakie.

The real pattern is that throughout the generations the starters started to look more and more human-like. In gen 1 you had your toad, lizard and turtle. In gen 6 suddenly its a paladin a magician and a ninja, gen 7 had an archer a wrestler and some sort of opera singer. Gen 8 I don't know, but I've heard one of them is a soccer/football player.
