I only had a couple of computer classes during high school. In the last one, someone stole the computer mice. And someone put live...stuff...on the projector while the teacher was out of class.

I wasn't paying attention.

Wow. It seems like people always like doing things to computer equipment. That happened all of the time in my classes.
In a few of my classes (mainly Web Design), I always had free time. I'd always finish early and go to help the others. My favorite part was the HTML section. That was the easiest of all. The rest of it was Dreamweaver and Frontpage.

Unlike you, I always finished last. This was because I like doing things perfectly. I used a bit of HTML during one of my classes last year, but this year I finally get to do something.

-is not a computer science major-

I finished early, because we always had to do it a specific way. I'm pretty fluent in HTML. (I hated not being allowed to use it during Dreamweaver and Frontpage.) If only I had an ounce of creativity....then I could probably do some more coding.
I'll eventually be a computer engineering major...whenever I meet the requirements.

Good luck with that. -gives out cake-

I'm sure you had moments where you wanted to smash the computer with a sledgehammer.

90506

The cake is a lie!

90507

What does "The cake is a lie!" even mean? I've heard it a lot...

Speaking of that...you reminded me. There was a time in PC Repair that we were supposed to mess with the registry and have someone else attempt to fix it. Let's just say...I knew what I was deleting whenever I did it. I messed it up so bad they had to reinstall it. XD (It was on a virtual machine.) People always hated getting on the computer that I messed with. XD I love messing up computers.

It is a meme popularized from the PC game known as Portal. During the game, an electronic voice encourages you to solve intricate puzzles using cake as a motivating perk. When you have "broken out" of the game's initial testing phase (from threat of death), you find scrawls on walls of the innards of the testing center warning you that "the cake is a lie".

90510

Oh, okay. I can never keep up with all of these memes.

90511

You can also find those messages during the testing.

"The enrichment center would like to remind you that you will be baked. Then there will be cake."

90509

It's a phrase in Portal. GlaDOS, the computer, keeps promising Chell [the hero] cake after the tests are completed. -spoiler for people who've never played-

Spoiler:

90513

That's definitely...strange. I've never even heard of that game, actually, but that's mainly because I don't really play any PC games.

90514

Hey, that game gets off easily compared to a certain other game that has apples. That fall upwards.

90516

I'm not making this up. Google I Wanna Be the Guy. Or if you don't want to play it, just look for videos of it on Youtube.

90517

OOH! OOH! I KNOW THIS ONE! I KNOW THIS ONE! UHH... UHH... I WANNA BE THE GUY!!! It's notorious for beyond lunatic difficulty. Most people can't even figure out how to get past the first screen without a walkthrough. It's that hard. Basic gameplay basically boils down to that of your average 2-D platformer; jumping, double jumping, wall jumping, the usual.

90518

I'm guessing that you've beaten it.

90159

The game is that hard? That makes me not even want to try it or look it up. XD
