I think I have a virus.
Not sure from what, since I'm a good little internet browser.

But Internet Explorer keeps popping up and navigating to malicious sites D:
Could this be Conficker?

There's a way you may be able to find out. Try this link. That was posted in the Conficker thread. Not sure how well it works...but it's worth a shot.

Apparently, I'm not infected.

I'm kind of worried though.
The only sites I ever visit are PC, Youtube, Myspace, Facebook, and webcomics that I read.
All are perfectly safe :\

There are also some Conficker removal tools posted. You may be able to try those. Have you tried a virus scan, yet? It may not actually be Conficker doing it.

I ran a McAfee test (Ooh, whoop-di-doo >_>) because my mom uninstalled Norton '09 for some reason.
I seriously don't understand her sometimes.

Any other good virus scanners you could recommend while I wait to reinstall Norton?

Well...not really. I'm a little out-of-touch with anti-virus software. (I blame the two-three years that I exclusively used Linux. XD) Although, Avira is usually pretty good. I've heard a lot about Avast! as well. If you're really desperate, you can try AVG. (I said desperate, because it seems a lot of people hate it.)
I get Symantec AntiVirus free from the university, so I've also used it. (EndPoint, the newer version, doesn't work with Windows 7, though. I know you don't use 7, but I just felt like ranting about it. XD)

I just have to wait a while for my uncle to give me back my Norton disk and I'll be set.

Meah, I never took Conficker seriously. It's evidently a pop up of some sort that you have to click in order to contract it.
My defense is being vigilant :D
