Yeah, there wasn't any sarcasm. It was ok.

So today I only got to watch 3 of the anime this season. Argh! :<

Bye guys see ya in three days. Also, Lapras' sudden appearance made me confused what to chat about. No offense, I'm just an introvert.

Bad writing? How much LN have your read?
It's known that Light Novels are generally badly written, most of the time no better than your average fanfiction. Some of the Light Novels even started out that way, like Sword Art Online. Just take a look at the Mahouka Light Novel. It's the most amateur writing. Lots of pointless text wasted on describing irrelevant stuff. Honestly, Light Novels are like a whole medium of Twilight quality books. Why bother reading harem and erotic Japanese novels written by high schoolers/early 20s guys? So I assume that if the so called best light novels are badly written (just a couple of pages here and there are enough to see how bad they are). Of course, there are exceptions, like one in every twenty light novels, like Kino's Journey, or Moretsu Pirates perhaps, but most of the time, not.

Also a lot of those books are quite sexist and focused on degrading both females and males. Females usually can't live without the male's power stick, and the males usually can't live without female anti-stress balls. That's just the obvious sexism. Characters like Asuna from Sword Art Online are even more sexist and even insulting to the female gender.

Art style aside I liked the first episode of Knights of Sidonia. Any thoughts on this one? I really dig the setting.
I think the same, basically.

I keep seeing similarities to NGE, but I guess that's just this genre in general. It's done really well with its narrative, the sci-fi and society elements are believable and sufficiently creepy, and everything is lovely, lovely white.

One would assume this art style will look much better when the show switches its focus properly to space fights and robots instead of "people".

I just read LN's because of such irrelevant minutia. :P

It explains the world building a lot more when you dive into the adaptation.

But whatever floats your boats folks. I really don't know what you folks are watching, but the fanservice that permeates most anime nowadays is certainly sexist if we start using that line of argument. Yet we don't get outcries from moral guardians in the anime community on every single panty shot do we?

Oh, I'm 100% sure there are people who cry out over every panty shot. Not that I mind, panty shots are usually uncalled for and terribly executed.

I firmly believe that the anime medium can do sufficient, viewer-friendly and in-depth world building. It's just easier in LNs since you can throw in a paragraph or two about stuff whenever you feel like it.

Sailor Moon's occasional panty shot is less sexist than what Kiss x Sis, High School DxD or Daimidaler do. Panty shot doesn't necessarily degrade a female (depending on the whole situation and purpose of that panty shot). Actually it's kinda hilarious how many panty shots Sailor Moon has, especially Chibiusa. But unlike your average ecchi show, those panty shots weren't supposed to sell toys. They just were there for a weird reason.

People yelled 'OMG LOLI PANTY SHOT' for NGNL even though it is a freakin' ecchi lol

I find it weird how people complain about boobs and panty shots in shows that are tagged ecchi or are borderline porno in nature. I mean, god, they have a target audience. That's what they are supposed to be like. :/

Now, complaining about fanservice in shows like Code Geass? Sure.

Why would someone complain about fanservice in Code Geass? Wasn't the whole Code Geass built on fanservice? Look at Karen. They showed her butt more than her face.

The fanservice in Code Geass turned me off, because I guess I kind of assume that it was supposed to be kind of a serious show.

And then, you know, everything else.

Oh, dat ass was lovely alright. Her bewbs too. Nice stuff.

Edit - Phazon - exactly.

That.....actually makes a LOT of sense, pokey. Why did I never think of that?

Uhhhhhhhh lappy this is lelouch we are talking about. Not someone like Gintoki.
