Anime/Manga NP: The Theory of Slice of Life

I'd buy if I had money saved, but alas I'm $4.3k in debt, and possibly another $6k this summer for the New York program.

Last DvD/BD I bought was Disappearance of Haruhi IIRC.

I can't buy DVDs here. No localization. I've bough OP manga tho. Plan to buy more. I have only 4 right now. ;;

I occasionally buy DVDs, but a lot of things I have on my hard drive have, to my knowledge, not been localized (e.g. [C], Gintama, LoGH).

I don't think I can buy dvds. Heard they're region locked or something. Otherwise I'd import Gintama and OP if that isn't the case.

Either way, doesn't seem like I can go watch Gokukoku or Ergo Proxy in cafe today. Cafe closed. Me sad. I will have to watch Sakurasou I guess.

So look who decided to not study and lurk here instead.

In my case, as much as I want to buy DVDs here, I don't want to. It's better to just download anime than buy a pirated DVD. At least I'm not making people earn money illegally from the creators.

In fact, if I do encounter a legit one, I'll definitely buy it.

But hey, at least I get my manga legally.

And my anime is organized in my external HD based on letters and iconed based on whether I have watched, completed, or not.

My manga, on the other hand, is a HUGE mess inside 3 huge containers, and I can't tell which container is one series in. Good thing we're planning to move to a bigger house. We need space for a bookshelf. P:

I usually download the torrent from bakabt/nyaa.eu and then delete it after watching. The only shows I'm saving atm are hard to come by stuff and raws that are badly seeded. Hopefully I'll buy a 2TB hdd soon so I can save the good stuff.

Why didn't he use the power to get pussy?
Because the whole cast would do it for free?
He had Kallen, CC, Shirley, maid, both loli princesses...

Those of you who, uh, acquire your anime and manga, do you have a certain system when it comes to keeping it organized? Do you just dump it all in one place, do you have folders for particular series/studios/artists/tags/etc.? And do you do anything to keep it convenient?

I put WAY too much of time into this stuff, especially manga. See, I'm an avid reader of, let's say, short-and-to-the-point manga, and my current system, consisting of a huge HTML-document with a bunch of links to web readers with the stuff I read (and a javascripted randomize function, which is lovely), is starting to fail since some web hosts get taken down and loading times are annoying anyway. So I'm going to start building an archive of my own on my trusted 3TB, trying to utilize some sort of tag system with custom icons. Obviously it's going to take a while, but it'll be fun.

Basically, I'm just looking for inspiration. Do y'all have any preferences when it comes to folder organizing?
I download anime -> make folder -> finish anime -> put folder to my external disk.
If I download a batch, I don't bother to rename it or remove the sub group tag.

LOL. I am one of those people who are too lazy to download episodes myself, but I do recognize and appreciate the merits that come along with downloading. My friend always wants needs the best quality: 1080p or Blu-Ray, or he just won't watch it XD I could definitely tell the difference between quality compared to streaming when we were watching.
1080p is justice!
Unless it's Horrible Subs' horrible upscale. And I still watch Mahouka in 1080p because it's Mahouka.

I generally download 720p. Monitor size isn't that big. I need an external drive soon. My 160+500 GB is almost full. One Piece, Gintama, Baccano, Bebop, Kara no Kyoukai....so many series in there. Plus ones which I've 'hidden' from my sis - stuff like Sekirei, Berserk and GTO. :p I think I'll start streaming in college, though. Won't get much bandwidth there. ;;

also, sakurasou is love. My desire to watch it got reignited after episode 11.

Not justice for me though. My harddrive's memory would cry if I download 1080p. x'D

Also the reason why I download 720p anyway. And I share your pain, 2013 was a tough year looking at the leftover space I have left. xD

I have to have some space for games too ;; Dark Souls, DMC etc. ;;

And dayummm dat hug in sakurasou episode 12. So damn adorable. I love these guys. :'D

I don't buy the DVDs and blu-ray, since there are not much here, the last time I saw one blu-ray was the Higashi no Eden series, but it was so freaking expensive!

I normally don't download anything, but when I do... it has to be 1080p hi10p. I only strive for the best when it comes to torrenting, since it takes so much time, why not just get the best i can?

720p tv releases. Highest possible quality for archiving, especially if it's a series I really like. A lot of the series I store are old so bluray rips are often out of the question.

I have a 2tb external and will probably need another one before the year is through. When I do I'll have my archive on one and my backlog on another.

I want to watch JoJo so badly right now. That or rewatch Nodame. :x

I'm trying to satisfy myself with Sakurasou. 15/24 done.

Already starting to get behind on Spring. Thanks to muh 80s series and spontaneous OVA pickups I'll end up with a massive airing backlog before long.
