Something that counters all the pokemon you are weak to...focus on heracross and Vire first.

k after pulging my 5 guys into the team builder Ifound out my 3 major weaknesses are bug, ice, and steel so a steel type resiests all 3 i'm thinking stellix wat's a good set although that still means heracross is a problem... after check serebii one of the only decent counet that helps is skarm, but then every looks out for him. What sould i do?

First work on your Cross Weakness! If you add Steelix then that adds another weakness to Vire' and Cross'.So Get something that can resist Bug and Fighting.

would a foretress work or no?

Cradily @Leftovers

-Energy Ball/Stone Edge
-Ingrain
-Stockpile
-Confuse Ray

This can be a good wall. A underrated one though. D;

If you do use pory Z...

Porygon Z@Cscarf
Modest
252 speed, 252 SpA, 6 HP
~Tri attack
~dark pulse
~Tbolt
~ice beam

Scarfed 'Z. The best PZ set IMO.
Porygon-Z only needs 264 Speed with Choice Scarf, so much less EVs are needed in Speed, and can be added to HP to increase survival (sp?).

EDIT: CBBlissey made me LOL.

Yeah! CB blissey FTW! In that case, I'd put some of those EVs to HP, but don't expect to survive close combat;) And to answer the question about countering heracross, a very strong pokemon in defense that can learn counter, such as blastoise, = dead heracross...though you'll need to have spot-on prediction to pull it off, or close combat will eat you for breakfast, and will be waiting all day for lunch and dinner. Heracross is a tough poke to counter, I wish you good luck.

or you could throw a Flying type in their....tho the only good one is Starapator and it adds to your Vire' weakness.

Starptor is no heracross counter, since stone edge=staraptor's angel wings being formed...as in it'll die. Skarm is the best, and only really reliable counter I can think of. If you use prediction, you have a good shot at taming the scrawny little bug-beast that is heracross.

Yes! Tangrowth...finally another counter! Just watch out for the brutal megahorn...though prediction can fix that.

Urgh...a moveset...hooray...just use knock off to eliminate the choice item...and don't EVER switch into megahorn...or tangrowth will gat fried like a double quarter pounder at mcDonald's, and that's including the greese. So use prediction. Also, gengar can switch into CB/Cscarfed EQs and resist them with levitate...that always helps.

Thunderpunch over ice punch on metagross...please.
Please. Drunk RMT'ing is bad.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Nasty Plot > Dark Pulse
Oh Yeah The Exact Set I'd Use!ummm Gar'

Gengar@Wide Lens
252 Spd/ 252 Sp.Atk/ 6 HP
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Timid
-Shadowball
-Focus Blast
-Hypnosis
go with that set for gar'!
Energy Ball > Focus Blast.

You do realize thunderpunch is used a lot on gross, right? I'm not even old enough to drink...

Pory Z scarfed worked much better for me than it did with nasty plot...both work I guess, but scarfed=better IMO.

Energy ball=useless on Gar, unless you really have trouble against swampert...it needs focus blast for dark types. That way gengar isn't walled by everything...

Gengar couldn't OHKO any Dark type except Houndoom. And even so, you'll have trouble with any Ground type w/o E Ball.

I-Punch > T-Punch because Gross is the only I-Puncher who counters Mence.

Meh...I still prefer Thunderpounch, but at least both do in fact work...and leik, you forgot absol! Actually, focus blast also beats a lotof steels too...more personal preference I guess...that's what's to love about pokemon. Houndoom lol...but yeah, can't gengar run a specs set?

Heracross counters: Gliscor and really defensive Nidoqueen who both treath with Aerial Ace. Skarmory isn't a counter because it get's 2hko'ed by CC.
Tangrowth isn't an Heracross counter and will never be.
