The resemblence is really cool, maybe they even have more resemblances in Pokemon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum for example, Dawn, Prof. Rowan, etc.

It could be a possibility. I mean they have made a lot of the things in the games based off of Japan somewhat.

As far as I am concerned, I think they didn't know about Ocelot or else they might've given credit to the original owners of the character look.
