<<; I don't see what people have against it really. I'm not sure how widespread it is outside of the US, but I don't know why so many people in the US claim to hate it before they even give it a chance. It really irks me... country isn't that bad at all. It's the only kind of music I've found that I can relate to no matter how I'm feeling...

Annnnd that would be because I have a paper due tomorrow... er, today... and I haven't finished it yet. So I'm staying up until I finally finish it~

Don't insult preferences, Kylie~ country music? I don't loathe or like it. I'm just too used to listening to cheap music that drowns out vocals and pumps up the guitar's volume. XD

It's mostly the country music culture I hate... I live near a city where each year people all gather to celebrate it, it's horrible and last time it happened I didn't go outside for the whole duration...
 
...if I were to insult whatever kind of music you like, you'd all get mad at me. <<; So what makes it alright to diss country music like it's nothing? Seriously, I don't get it. I have yet to hear someone explain why they dislike country with actual reasons behind it...

Country music culture? By that you mean what exactly? Tailgating and drinking a lot? XD

Err... Kylie, you hardly ever go out anyway I thought you lived in some high-tech city where they had instant-muffin-making machines or something XD I understand how you feel about events such as that, they occur in some of the more rural areas of New Zealand~

I wouldn't be mad XD I'm used to people hating emo. x)

Drinking lots, horses, those hats, basically the whole hick/country experience XD;;;;; my area is civilised until the festival rolls around again, then the main streets are hax'd by utility trucks and... Australian country's probably worse than American country, but yeah. XD;;; It's dreadful! I tried to like it to fit in but... gah. I find it irritating and it reminds me too much of uncivilised rural Australia, I never was meant to live in a rural area. =/

Keith Urban is from Australia though, and he's awesome and has pretty hair. <3 XD Other than him, if he even counts, I don't know what Australian country sounds like, so I dunno how accurate you are or not. And there's nothing wrong with cowboy hats. >O

And I wasn't saying you would get mad... more that everyone seems to get really defensive when the music they like is being insulted, yet they find it perfectly okay to bash country like it's nothing. It really annoys me. And it's not like I'm from a rural country-music loving area either where all you grow up listening to is country or anything... Connecticut is pretty much the farthest you can get from that. I've only really liked it for about a year and a half-ish now anyway. I'm open to listening to all genres though, and I mean that~

This post doesn't make much sense to me... so I'm not sure it'll make sense you anyone else either. Guess that's what happens when I try to argue at 3:30 in the morning... XD

Country music is associated a lot with alcoholic bums who tailgate; aka rednecks. Unfortunately.

The stereotype creates a big distaste for country music.

Keith Urban is okay, can't say he's that good XD I probably hate it because it's shoved in my face.

I'm aware of the stereotypes... but that's just what they are: stereotypes. Sure there are a lot of songs about drinking and tailgating occurs at concerts and stuff, but all of the country music world isn't like that. Not at all. <<;

Well, I can't sleep until I get my paper done. And now that I've been distracted by PC, I probably won't get to sleep until at least 4:30. XD; It's a good thing I don't have any classes tomorrow until 12:30~
 
What IS tailgating? xD;;

Meh, it's true here... it probably wasn't originally but people use it as an excuse to get drunk and drop their hygiene each January... can't wait until it gets here --;
