Name: Kakeru Konban
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Speicies: Human
Appearance: Kakeru is black-haired and blue-eyed, and blessed with a small amount of angelic charisma. He is of average height with a fairly tight build; defined but not overly pronounced muscles. Kakeru typically wears a jerkin of some kind and a pair of slacks. His feet are enclosed in a pair of gaiters while his hands are uncovered, save for a silver ring around each wrist. Kakeru's right ear is pierced near the top-back by a small silver earing. He also carries a pack containing an extra pair of clothes and various tools that he needs for his 'profession'. Because of how incriminating such objects could be, the pack is always well guarded and occassionally armed with a simple alarm in case it is opened. A single silver dagger is strapped to his right thigh with the blade hidden in a sheath the same color as his pants. His extra pair of clothes consists of a black leather tank top and blank leather pants, along with two fingerless gloves. Kakeru reserves this garb for any jobs he might attempt, or when he makes an occassional trip to a club.
Personality: Cocky and arrogant on the outside, Kakeru is never afraid to speak his mind. He blames his brash statements on his mouth, which "says things before my mind has a chance to check them". Kakeru is constantly smiling, usually because he finds other people screwing up as a source of entertainment. His outward arrogance hides an ever working mind that is always searching for things to take and ways to escape from any situation, plausible and not, that he can think of. Kakeru takes particular joy from outsmarting vampires, and has taken a habit of leaving cards with cameras so he can watch their reactions when they realize what he's taken. Though he generally dislikes vampires, Kakeru can't stand those that work for such ideals as 'justice' or even 'vengeance' (this, of course, has never stopped him from killing a few vamps that have wronged him before).
Past: Kakeru was sold as a pet at the age of six, but refused to obey his so-called 'master'. The following three years almost killed Kakeru, as he was constantly beaten and forced into doing whatever his master commanded. Such treatment could not tame Kakeru, however, and he let out his aggressions in one violent flash. The child stabbed from behind the man, but nearly died from fright when his master did not die. It became clear to Kakeru that he was serving something unnatural and he fled desperately into the city, running from the richer sections into the slums. Having no family that he was aware of nor a home to return to, Kakeru turned to theft in order to survive. He somehow managed to beat an otherwise cruel fate, and lived to pull off a fairly well known robbery in which the quivalent of several thousand dollars was stolen from wealthy buisness man. With the funds, Kakeru (now 14) began to live in a dingy apartment and pull off more elaborate heists. He came into contact with other thieves and traded various secrets and bought supplies off of them. When he managed to loot $100,000 dollars from a nearby bank, the police began to take more notice, causing Kakeru to move home base. His skills also attracted the attention of the Slain, who were far better and slightly more determined to find him than the cops were. Kakeru declined their offer to join, but agreed that he would do whatever the Slain wanted in exchange for not handing him over to the police.
Other: Kakeru is also known as the Bandit Wraith for his tendencies to slip away as if he has faded from this plane. He suspects that he might have a small amount of cat DNA spliced into him, which would explain his reflexes and perhaps be reason why he was a 'pet'.

Click click click. It was the only sound, and a barely heard one at that, that could be heard in the still night. Anybody could have identified them as footsteps, and that's exactly what they were. Kakeru Konban, the Bandit Wraith, was about to strike again. The noise stopped and a lone figure was barely visible in the black hallway. The leather that covered his body was enough camoflauge to make him nearly impercievable to anyone without altered vision. This is so boring...I suspected something more than a laser room. He had recently moved through a large room containing an large number of lasers that were easily visible once Kakeru had used a little something from his bag of tricks. His body had moved deftly through the trap, moving from one position to the next quickly and skillfully. Now all that seperated him from his goal was probably just a door with an intricate lock.
Kakeru moved one foot forward and stopped with it brushing the surface. He applied a little more pressure and felt the tile give slightly. Just pressure plates, no problem. He pulled something out of his bag and slipped the two items over his fingers so that they settled where the digits met the hand. Three spikes with harpoon like edges were on each hand now, and Kakeru made a jump towards the ceiling. The spikes impaled themselves, and Kakeru began to move across the area by means of a monkey bar type of arm swinging. When he was hanging next to the large door, he dropped and slipped the knuckles away. The lock was on the wall to his right and the screen glowed a yellowish green. A keypad adorned the face of the lock, and a cursor blinked on the screen. It's just a number combination from the looks of it. A PDA sized device was revealed from the pack, and Kakeru had the door open in seconds.
He walked into the next room, and raised a hand to his eyes as spotlights suddenly lit and pointed at him. "**** it." It was the only thing he said as he dashed to the right. His ears were filled with the sound of gunfire against the stone walls that lined the room. I should have predicted this...so it's a good thing I did. As he continued around the circular room, Kakeru flung a black sphere at the floor to his left. The ball erupted into great billows of somke, and the thief heard men coughing above him on a balcony somewhere. He covered his nose and mouth with one hand and leapt to the center of the room where his target was located in a glass box. There's no point in stealth now. I'll just swipe this. His foot crashed through the delicate container and the air was filled with sounds of alarm. Kakeru's free arm dropped a small card, and he snatched the necklace that lay on a pillow before him before he ran for the door. He sprinted across the pressure plates without worry and then through the room that had contained lasers. The doors were in the processing of going into lockdown, covering themselves with great sheets of steel. Without missing a beat, Kakeru jumped through a window and landed softly on a springy cushion he had prepared earlier. His target in hand, Bandit Wraith fled into the night without another glance at the mansion behind him.
