Noooo... just pair him with TTar, or someone with Sandstorm. Garchomp could use better moves than Sandstorm... actually, someone I battled, his TTar gave my Garchomp a boost with Sandstream, and he evaded an Earthquake, leading to an OHKO by me. It was very cool.
