True, but staff don't run MotM especially, MotM is like a tiny version of presidency but different.

I differ. Greg basically ran the first one, so I see no harm in letting him run this one too. We're only needed for the IP checking and then to edit the usergroups to the right colours and drop the people inside them. We've really no need to intervene any more than that. =\

I also think the elections should be moved up a bit. o_O Like I said, if we're holding these semi-annually, they should be around 6 months apart. If we announce the winners in early April then we have 6 months (May, June, July, August, September, October) until November which is when we announced the last winners. o_o Holding them in June would push the other ones back until December... and I doubt anyone wants to spend their holidays counting votes and checking IP addresses. <_< It really does make more sense this way. ^^;

Yeah, this really is a member thingy... and I'd be pretty annoyed if everything was done by higher staff, as all they're need for is IP checking. I'm sure Greg can handle it, he did last time (with Erica's help of course :P)
 
The staff should be the ones to decide on the date, since we're the ones that give out the prize, which is why i said we needed time to decide..but according to JK we're not even allowed that *sigh* typical JK sig edit about "Members want it now, but nope, can't have it now" *rolls eyes*
I would prefer a staff member having input into the rules for this time but *shrug* nevermind i guess

Steve has confirmed the beginning of june vote count (he'd just forgotten that he'd decided that date) so i don't think that the campaigning should start yet, but meh, start whenever you want ^^;

Hmm.. Eh.. I'd like to know if there's any way that I could run for President of PC? If not, it's okay... But, is there any special qualifications? Okay, thanks for reading! ~origin
 
In my opinion?
1. The elections should be 1 year since the last one. On the first Tuesday of November, only with monday preceding tuesday within the same month(meaning that if monday was in October, it's held on the second tuesday). To keep it consistant with the election dates in the USA(even though they're every four years...)
2. FG and I have to wait until after the next elections to run again.
3. Should be held in Announcements, we rarely ever have any posts there.

Incase you don't remember, I had the original concept long ago, which had no opposition at the time when we spoke about the date. And back then, it was to stay completely consistant with the US election dates. I'm stretching my own original ideas just to be 'fair' on the issue...

4. I think FG and I should be the ones to make the count =P
 
Well, like i say, staff decided for it to be april for campaigning (steve *reconfirmed just now*, myself, andy, erica, tommy) with votes being counted end of may/start of june

I think one year is ample time. Also think about members looking at the position of President. It's already hard enough to tell what it really is, I don't think it would help much to change it on them on such short intervals.

*Gets selfish and goes back to 4 year idea* =P
 
One year is too long forum-wise O.o forums change a lot and members come and go within a year ^^; it's nice to get newly established popular members recognised every 6 months ^^
 
One year is a really, really long time in terms of a forum, Brittany. o.o; It's already lost most of its appeal as it is, so I think semi-annually is good.

So then are we moving the second elections to at least December, then? Otherwise it's not fair -- the first P/VP get 7 months and if it goes again in November, the elected members get only 3-4 months. x_X;

PM anyone running the election to get on the list. They'll post a relatively large list for the first selection, then run it down to the top 10.(people tying for last place make it too) Then from those 10, they give the month long vote for the top two.
 
so far ive read , staff will run the elections , but , what are the particular members? steve and claire or another staff members.
