Awww >< Darnit, April is so far away...

Members want to run it i guess so they can *shrugs* but like i say i'd like our date to be kept since we're the ones having to ip check on the voting date and had already decided on it ^^;

Well, if the votes will be counted in June, can we have it be on the first tuesday of June only with a monday preceding it within the same month? =P

Just a reminder, you have to be a member of PC for at least a month to run. Along with that, I think there should be a post minimum of 200 to make sure that the member is at least semi-active on PC.

Which date? The later date or JK's date?

Steve pmed to say the later date which we'd originally agreed on a couple of months ago, so should be the later one kylie ^^;

I differ. Greg basically ran the first one, so I see no harm in letting him run this one too. We're only needed for the IP checking and then to edit the usergroups to the right colours and drop the people inside them. We've really no need to intervene any more than that. =\

I also think the elections should be moved up a bit. o_O Like I said, if we're holding these semi-annually, they should be around 6 months apart. If we announce the winners in early April then we have 6 months (May, June, July, August, September, October) until November which is when we announced the last winners. o_o Holding them in June would push the other ones back until December... and I doubt anyone wants to spend their holidays counting votes and checking IP addresses. <_< It really does make more sense this way. ^^;

edit: I forgot the second part of my post. XD;
Didn't reply to this one...

Well remember this, more members are online in the summer, and for more time. Infact, because of summer vacation, some have the time to waste 24 hour intervals staying on PC. Meaning, even though it would be a smaller amount of time(for a month or two), it's a far bigger deal.

Actually, last year activity dropped in the summer. o_O; But I do sorta get your point. But if we still want to go back and compare it to any other elections... just because Bush got a ton of spotlight time due to September 11th and stuff, does that mean that he should get less time in office than any other elected presidents? (Erm, bad example with Bush and all, but personal opinions aside. XD;;)

You can't really measure a term by activity very accurately, but at least with actual months being used to measure it, it'll be easier to plan terms and explain them to people with questions. o_O;

True. June is ages to wait, Ty is right. ^^

It'll probably be early-mid may to make it pretty 6 months worth of presidency, so the campaigning will most likely start mid-march, but we're waiting for the other higher staff to confirm it's ok ^^

I actually wont. be on in the summer..
If its in May...*shrugs* never know..can I run too?
So what are the requirements?

I guess. You just need 200+ posts and to have been here for a month or so I think.

Well, I've given it some thought, and if staff are allowed to run for Presidency, then I suppose I'm in! ;D

Britt...
c. Canidates must have at least 50 posts and have joined before February 1st, 2005. If a user has started a new account, please link to it in the application PM so that I know you fit the requirements.

Good luck Kelsey. I know you'll win.

*posts revised dates*
And like last year, it'll run in a normal fashion.
a. Potential canidates will be able to PM me with their applications come the beginning of April. Applications will be accepted April 1st to April 7th.
b. From April 1st to the end of April, potential canidates are encouraged to gain as much support as possible. They'll need it when the primaries come, the first day of May.
c. On May 1st, I will post the primaries. The primary voting will last for a week, like before. People will ahve the ability to vote for three of the numerous canidates May 1st thru May 7th. Then, the thread will be locked and the final runners will be chosen.
d. May 7th, when the final runners are posted, is the start of the final campaigning. You have the remainder of the month to campaign and get the supporters that YOU will NEED come June 1st. Then what comes?
e. June 1st, the final day, when the voting post is made. Voting will last... until the 10th.
f. June 11th, the final counts will be in. And I'll post the winners, and that'll be it - they can then go about contacting Higher Staff for their gifts. ^_~

That work for you Claire? -_-

No I won't. Maybe Eli or Ty or Kevy or Kelsey. But not me.
