This reminds me of the RS arc of Pokemon special how Ruby meet Sapphire but had to go back to Johto...then he moved back...
Well if they do mention Hoenn I wonder if this could be a hint of RS remakes ;). Though they did mention Johto in RS...and those games didn't get remakes in the third gen...

Actually, I think this almost guarantees it won't IF Mawile is going to get an evolution.
This happened already with Scyther & Pinsir and Dusclops & Banette, it'll probably happen again.

When I thought of it, that nosepass looking pokemon somewhat reminded me of sableye, but it looks too rugged to be related considering how little Gamefreak changes, but then again this generation is pretty different from the others.

It's like if Kyogre got an evolution and Groudon didn't (even though legendaries can't), idk, it just ruins the original game's "opposite aspect" D:

At least Seviper/Zangoose won't. D:

I hope not Seviper and Zangoose have to be connected...well some Johto opposites got evos this past gen like Sneasel, and Gligar so some times they are together :)
 
Though Delibird did not get a pre evo like Mantine did. I want an adorable red/white penguin

Well, Electabuzz and Magmar did get an evolution, so there's still hope.

Jynx was not a version exclusive though and it was not found in the wild back then either while the other two were. The only thing jynx had in common with them is they all got a pre evo in gen 2. Jynx is also a dual type while the other two are pure electric and fire. So I wouldn't count her as one of them.
 
And you forgot she is part of the Elemental Punch Trio, but I still hope she doesn't get an evolution.

What do you mean elemental punch trio there isn't one they were not the only 3 able to learn the elemental punches Hitmonchan did as well. And Smmochum didn't learn Ice punch by Level up like the other two did.

Yes, I know, but I meant the three Pokémon that got the elemental punches as main moves (Magmar=Fire Punch, Electabuzz=ThunderPunch, Jynx=Ice Punch), I don't count Hitmonchan here because he learns all the punches.

This guy is right. Jynx, Electabuzz and Magmar have always been seen as the humanoid punching trio.
 
Phew, at least someone knows what I'm talking about.

They have more differences than things in common.

Differences
1.Jynx could only be obtained by trade in gen 1
2. Jynx is a dual type
3. Jynx was not a version exclusive
4. Smoochum did not learn Ice punch by level up.
People my say no to this one
5. Jynx did not receive an evo with the other two.

In common
1. All are in the humanshape egg group
2. all learn elemental punches
3. All obtained a pre evo in gen 2

It has reasons and so it could or couldn't have anything to do with them.

Does that means that Rayquaza is not part of the Weather Trio because it's not a version exclusive?

EDIT: By the way, I think Jynx didn't get an evo because it would be weird.

Rayquaza had it's own game. And Emerald gave it some version exclusive ways like being able to catch it before the 8th gym and the E4 which you could not do in RS.

All three evolve from a baby pokemon at lvl 30.
