ok... I'm really lost

    I just joined this site yesterday and was reading through some threads with languages I did not understand.

    What's EV, IV, UU, special sweeper... and theres more but these are my main ones.

    They're everywhere. What are they?
     
    Ev: A pokemon that has been ev trained
     
    It is where a particular pokemon verses pokemon that dominate one stat and after every level gain you will gain extra stat points in that particular stat
     
    EV: Effort Values, the things that determine your stat increases.
    IV: Individual Values, hidden values determining the maximum strength of your Pokemon.
    UU: Underused Pokemon
    Special sweeper: A Pokemon that attacks vastly by using only special attacks.

    Check a site like Serebii for more detailed desciptions on EV and IV.
     
    Special Sweeper is a good battler that has a high special attack and can kill alot of the other peoples pokemon. Its is usually used after a wall

    If you are raising for competitive battling Id suggest start EV training, but if you are raising just for the fun of it then its up to you there :cool:

    Not when it starts but what stats it will have at lv 100, so lets say a Tyranitar with 31 IVs in attack and Adamant nature then if you EV train him/her in attack it will have 403 ish atk at lv100

    Ahh, the bold bits made me laugh

    But yes, IVs determine the tiny differences between two pokemon of the same level, nature and EVs
     
    Lol well I cant really say for sure cause my Magmortars got 31 IVs in Sp Atk and hes got 382 Sp Atk at Lv 100, so I dont know whats wrong there
