For folks having success with the Battle Royal format... What's working for you? What's yer team look like? Having some trouble over here.

Also, if there's another thread like this, point me to it. Sorry in advance.

I don't really bother with the royal.

But I did beat the Master Rank with:

    Tapu Koko @ Electrium - Z
    Electric Surge
    Timid
    252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
    - Thunderbolt
    - Volt Change
    - Dazzling Gleam
    - Protect

    Greninja @ i can't remember...maybe Lum Berry
    Battle Bond
    Timid
    252 Spa / 4 Spd / 252 Spe
    - Dark Pulse
    - Water Shuriken
    - Blizzard
    - Protect

    Ninetales @ Life Orb
    Snow Warning
    Timid
    252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
    - Protect
    - Blizzard
    - Freeze-Dry
    - Moonblast

Protect is the best move in Battle Royal. You'll find that one Pokemon that keeps attacking you via type advantage. So protect, someone else damages it and then you get an easy KO.

Thanks for the advice, might just try to adapt some of this.

    Also, Valor ftw.

For me, luck and Ultra beast.

No seriously it all comes down to luck, because the moment you're ahead, everyone turns on you, and you lose if your the one who gets all 3 Pokemon KOed.
My MVP was Guzzlord with Quick Claw, Brutal Swing and Heavy Slam. Heavy Slam takes out most Fairy types in 1 hit, and if you see a Pokemon with low health, use Brutal swing to finish it off.
The others I had was Xurcuitree and Tapu Leelee (or maybe Tapu Fini).
My other advise is to avoid pokemon with low health/defense like Buzzwole or Pheromosa. They can nab you one kill, but someone is bound to exploit there weakness.

    So... Pretty much tank-n-pray. Gotcha.

I farm master rank regularly for BP, and this is what you want to do.

The best kinds of pokemon that you can use for the format are Bulky attackers with priority.

Example: Golisopod with First impression/swords dance/aqua jet
Another one is Aegislash with swords dance/shadow sneak

Using pokemon like these two, with the third just being glue for your team, you will win quite consistently. Go HP/Attack EV insestment(or full tank, if you want swords dance to make up for the lack of Attack), and you're good.

Also, putting a protecting move on all three pokemon can help the battle turn in your favor quite a bit. Protecting when you're low can be the difference between first and third place sometimes.

That's exactly why I want it, the BP. Once Bank gets its update, I wanna start gettin' mah formal team together. That means items.

    That means (gag) grind.

Just won the Master Rank with the following team:

    Marshall the Shiny Machamp
    Nature - Timid (I know but he's Shiny :))
    Ability - No Guard
    Item - Life Orb
    Dual Chop
    Stone Edge
    Dynamic Punch
    Knock Off

My lead Pokemon. No Guard Dynamic Punch is an amazing move and with the Life Orb was very powerful. Got two KOs in the Master Rank including One Hit KOing a Terrakion.

    Kiawe the Shiny Alolan Marowak
    Nature - Hardy
    Ability - Rock Head
    Item - Thick Club
    Bonemerang
    Shadow Bone
    Stomping Tantrum
    Flare Blitz
Thick Club doubles Marowak's attack. Flare Blitz hits incredibly hard and Rock Head making it Recoil free is nice. Shadow Bone is great for other Ghosts and Psychics and Bonemerang deals with Fire. Tanked a Latias Draco Meteor and took out a Cobalion to get me the win. :)

    Garchomp
    Nature - Jolly
    Ability - Rough Skin
    Item - Garchompite
    Crunch
    Swords Dance
    Outrage
    Earthquake

Garchomp is as good as he always has been. Surprisingly not needed for my Master Rank win.

Quite fitting I used a Machamp as they are everywhere in the Battle Royal Dome. :)
