old card usage?

    I have old decks, mainly base/fossil era stuff. I'm wondering if there's restrictions to keep me from using these cards if I venture out and about. Basically wondering if i should bail on them except for home things or if they're fine but certain ones won't work.

    Any help is great, thanks!

    Most aren't allowed at tournaments. I think only energies and trainers that have not had the text altered on later versions of them. (I'm only certain about the energies)
     
    thanks, know any place that i could figure out what's legit?
    im building a deck out of all new stuff... but I don't even know what's new and able to be used. Too many expansions....

    Cards that are reprinted are also allowed to be played, there is a current list of ALL modified legal cards here: Card list
