Old Cards That Combo Neatly with Modern Cards!

I got this idea from a post of Hands's in another thread here.

So, basically, what old cards would you love to combine with some modern cards?

This fella right here. He'd work great with Octillery, Oranguru, any draw supporter, acro bike etc.

Darkrai EX from XY Breakpoint and Darkrai lvl X from DP Great Encounters.

That's a pretty good combo. Requires stacking a decent chunk of energy on Darkrai EX itself, though.

It wouldn't be too bad at least. The 2 needed to use the attack (assuming both Darkrai's out) would deal 100 dmg. Add a third and it's 140.

Yevaltal EX might actually be better with the Darkrai lvl X now that I think about it.... Hitting for a min 100 + whatever is on your opponent's pokemon for 2 energy seems harsh.

I'm not sure how you're getting to 100? 20 base + 20 for Basic Dark Energy #1 + 20 for Basic Dark Energy #2 + 20 total for the total sum of the bonus given by Darkrai Lv. X's PokeBody gets us to just 80. The Darkrai Lv. X bonus only applies to Basic Dark Energy, which don't give an extra 10 damage on their own. It's still a crazy amount for base damage with just 2 energy, though.

Oops, memory failed me when it came to the ability (haven't physically seen the card in years). For some reason I guess I got stuck on a 20 dmg boost per energy when it's actually only 10.
