4th Gen [Old] HG/SS Help Thread

Either the national dex Pokemon are just really hard to find, or I'm having bad luck. I don't know. Did I forget to do something? I've already beaten all the gyms, and the only thing left to do is beat Red. So...I don't think I forgot to do anything. :|

To capture any Hoenn or Sinnoh Pokémon in the game, you have to tune into the Pokémon March Station on your PokéGear either on Wednesday or Thursday. On Wednesdays you'll have the "Hoenn Sounds" while on Thursdays you'll have the "Sinnoh Sounds." In your case, you can capture Minun on a Wednesday while listening to the "Hoenn Sounds." For more information on this you can visit Hoenn & Sinnoh Pokémon. To find the many locations of Minun in the game, you can also visit its location(s) here, Minun - HG/SS.

You can't migrate from English GBA games to Japanese DS games, it's only English GBA-English DS and Japanese GBA-Japanese DS, perhaps that's the problem.

As to the Gary thing, you need to speak to him on Cinnabar Island first, then he'll go to his gym and it should work then =]
 
How do you get the ! and ? Unown? I caught all 26 Unown and know where that area is but it doesn't do anything...

Yes, I know about that.
I caught all 26 Unown, talked to all the researchers in that house, but for some reason I can't get in that area.

Whatcha mean?
It's the first area you're in when you get into the Unown Halls.

Comes down to sheer luck and chance.
One may get a Ho-oh with a turn 1 Quickball, one may get a Ho-oh with a turn 60 Greatball.

No for Ice Beam - it's in the Seafoam Islands. For the rest they're only in the Battle Frontier, which is accessible after the E4 I believe. =/
 
Hmm...I have not been able to find a single shop that sells Timer balls. (I've beaten Red so they're bound to be SOMEWHERE)

I don't think any of the shops carry them. However, you can win Pokeballs from the 3rd and 4th generation at the Goldenrod Department Store Rooftop by paying 300 to participate in a lottery. If you get 2nd place which is easy, you will get a Pokeball. Whatever you get depends on the day of the week. Here they are:

Monday: Nest
Tuesday: Repeat
Wednesday: Net
Thursday: Quick
Friday: Dusk
Saturday: Timer
Sunday: Luxury
 
Who of the phonable trainers gives the most money?

Is there any pokemon which has heartscale attached, so I can steel it?

I'm pretty sure you can make some from Apricorns too.
 
Heres a question,

Can you trde from P/D/PT to SS/HG befpre youve beaten the elite 4?
I want to trade over a dratini and onix :P
