Okay, I just recently got my pokemon platinum(Not ROM).

...And this is my first time ever trying to trade with wifi. I entered the password and username of the wifi I wanted to use, and selected auto-find IP Address. Well, everytime I check the connection, it says it cannot find an IP address. Why, and how do I fix it?

Manually enter your IP, lol.
 
But the problem is, being the unknowledgable person I am, I don't know how to FIND my IP address...

Open your windows menu on your computer(the icon at the bottom left corner) and type "cmd" in the search bar without the ". When the black box appears, type "ipconfig" without the " and it'll tell you what your IP address is.

What is my IP adress.

No really, there are like 300 sites that automatically find it.
 
So, I actually think Trade Corner is losing some of it's bad.
