I think all the old pokemon will be in D/P since you can trade with r/s/e and fire red/ leaf green.

Of course they will. But what I think Tyranisneasel means is what Pokémon can be obtained in D/P without trading.

That's a good question you got there. I'll start off with the Pokémon that can be obtained in the wild in at least one of the games in every generation (*NOTE* Some Pokémon from G/S/C that can be found in R/S/E and FR/LG will also be on the list):

^ Wow. Nintendo sure seems to like Electric types. Needless to say all the lists also include the evolutions of those Pokémon.

I also reckon common Pokémon like Pidgey, Spearow, the Weedle evolution line, Bellsprout and Growlithe will be in the games. The reason I think Bellsprout and Growlithe will be in the region is that their counterparts (Oddish and Vulpix.) appeared in R/S/E even though Bellsprout and Growlithe were left out of the game. Beedrill is on my list because we can't have Butterfree without Beedrill, now can we? And Pidgey and Spearow are on the list just because...

I also have a weird feeling that Shellder might be in the games.

I think it would be really cool if they made some of the pre-evolutions unobtanable in Di/Pe. Sneasel for example: I think it would make things more interesting if they made it so you had to trade a Sneasel from LG in order to get its evolution. Or you'd have to trade over a Mr. Mime in order to get Mime Jr.

Its not likely this will happen, but I still think it'd be cool.
