OMGZ! Ash in a maid outfit, and Dawn too!

This overtakes the Episode Review thread for "A Stand-Up Sit-Down?!"

I never knew you guys loved the fanservice. XD
 
Since that's a preview and that it airs in a few weeks, judging by where they are right now (following the Japanese anime), could that have something to do with that lodge place north of Solaceon Town in the game?

Hikari looks cute as in that outfit too.

Well, Pokemon fanservice vs. the usual anime fanservice is an eternal war. And Hikari usually finds a way to combine both. Or Satoshi's crossdressing.

And why are we obsessed with that, anyway? hehe.
 
I am surprised no one has popped up this line yet... other than me.

"OMGZ TEH POKEYMANZ WEAR MAID OUTFITZ! THEY R AUTOMATICALLY GURLZ!"

Are people more interested in Ash crossdressing than the Pokémon? Sure seems that way. XD

I don't get it myself, but what I do know is that the maid concept in japan is pretty popular.

Well I think that like some people kinda like to see their fave characters in certain outfits because they want to see how they will look in it then there is the fanservice like getting certain things from the Pokemon games into the show like recently Marina and Cythntia. Both are things that we both want kinda like me wanting to see everybody in Santa hats. Teeheehee That would look so cute!!! I kinda want to see in on Bunery. Teeheehee CUTE!!!!

Still I never understood why people want to see Ash crossdressing. He kinda doesn't look good in it. Teeheehee Still Piplup really looks cute. Teeheehee I wonder what other pokemon are going to do it too. Teeheehee

That's the Japanese take on it, which expands the concept further. That said, I think Reyna did a good job explaining it. Pokemon fanservice, so far, would be the recent appearances like Lucian or his explaining the Elite Four, which is something Western fans would obviously want. It's addressing the story more, like, say, Galactic's cameo, which writing-wise would be "ZOMG!!! SQUEE!"

Think on that compared to even a few years ago, "would the Japanese producers bother with such things?" Given the original treatment of the Elite Four, for example, I'm thinking no.

Then, of course, we have had Jessie's skirt shots and cleavage in the past, so that would be the intended Eastern fan-service. I guess we'll have to settle with Hikari's maid get-up, as standards have changed. I blame Dogasu, he started this trend. Or did I do it? Huh. I dunno.

Anyway, does that clear up things?
 
Am I the only girl guy who's noticing the Pokémon? XD Pikachu and Pochoma lok so kawaii. x3 And Miltank is there. X3

Glad someone else noticed Miltank's udders. Hehe. Anyway, since it's covering that Miltank diner/pitstop thingy in D/P, I think that's all the game canon you'll get in the episode, there.

As for Whitney, well, Jasmine appeared in D/P, so who's to say? But I don't want to go into a massive speculation frenzy. Well, not yet, anyway. Heh.
 
Well, according to the info I have got so far, the Miltank belongs to three sisters who Brock helps out, and thus getting the gang into trouble (wearing maid outfitz).

I know what fanservice means haha (I didn't know "fanservice" was a Japanese word thing though, I've seen it used in non-anime fandoms). I meant the Pokemon fanservice and usual anime fanservice thing. There's a difference?

I know what you meant. Heh.

Y'see, I adopted the term from my circles: comics, TV fanboys. Those type of fans employ that for cameos, writing bonus, uses of canon, things like that. But I can understand the confusion, as one fanon term can mean two completely different things for two completely different people.

I think the term is just mutating into something non-sexual anymore. Then, we have Hikari in a maid outfit, which I would say, "uh, how about Jessie in one, and then, we'll have something for everyone?" Because, yeah, a 10-year-old dressed like that....

However, we'll have an almost teenager, but not quite boy dressed in the same clothing. I guess that balances... Blanks out.

Oh, my brain hurts. Heh.

Oh! Don't worry, I was being stupid and didn't read it properly! So
Pokemon fanservice = game story
Anime fanservice = crossdressing and whatever

and the Pokemon anime must have both! I get what you mean now. Gaaaawd, I'm slow
