I think the spinoff films will probably be better than the next book, but that's mostly because I hated the crappy fanfiction ending of the seventh book.

I've only read Tolkien's books once, and I'm in no hurry to do so again.

Percy Jackson borrows far too much from Harry Potter for me to enoy it by itself. From the scool for the gifted, to the trio of friends with the male hero, the female genius and the silly one that pulls through when they need it most. There's even a fellow student from a different "house" who's friendly at the very beginning but is quickly established as an antagonist and a headmaster who loves the main character.

I'm a little bit too old to have been reading Percy Jackson when I was a kid, haha. That said, I HAVE seen both of the films...ehhhhh. I've seen worse. Like The Golden Compass. That was a horrid film.
