one-hit KO moves will automatically knock out any target they hit. However, they all have 30% base accuracy, and the accuracy increases by the difference between the level of the user and the level of the target. they will automatically fail if the user is lower level than the target.

do you use these moves? opinions on whether or not they're useful or not? would you change them (either making them better or worse) if you could?

Nah, I never bother on using these moves due to the fact that there's a 70% chance they'll miss, and they usually always do. I remember I had a Kygore in Sapphire many years back that had Sheer Cold, for some reason I actually got lucky with that and ended up using it in most of my battles. I'd like to see a consumable item that ups the chance of these moves landing, though.

Knowing my rotten bad luck these moves would always miss, so I don't use them.

I used to use them as a sort of last resort move, if the battle wasn't going my way or if the Pokemon with the move was the last one I had left, but that often didn't work out well so I haven't used them in ages ahaha.

Seeing as i have no luck what so ever using One hit kill moves I never use them
I try to pretend that they aren't there at all
I just find them as a minor road block to my victory in a battle.

If i would have a chance to change these moves i would make them have a little more accuracy
But remove the one hit kill feature And replace it with a damage out put of like 120-150

Last time I used such a move was way back in Blue, a Nidoking with Horn Drill - thinking that it sounded good - and whoops, no it wasn't with all things considered. Verdict after that: I will pass on such moves, thanks. Pretty sure I haven't willingly put such moves on any pokemon of mine since then.

Not even sure if I would bother changing them, but that's because I'm extremely indifferent to them by now. Though they could change, and unless they became godly, I still wouldn't use them. :D

I never cared to use OH-KO moves in any battle strategy mainly because of the low accuracy, and the fact that back in Generation I, they were based off of speed, making them completely useless since they were almost always on slower Pokémon.

Speaking of accuracy, though, I was particularly pissed that not only so many opposing Pokémon in the first Pokémon Stadium had these moves in their movesets, but they would use them OFTEN and they would be much more likely to work against your Pokémon than the advertised 30% rate. Talk about the odds being against you all the way!
