One Piece

How do you rate One Piece?

When I first watched it, I thought it was 'rubbish' as you called it. But that is exactly what I thought about several of my favourite anime, like Naruto and Mermaid Melody, when I first watched them. Now Mermaid Melody is my favourite, and One Piece comes up second. XDD

The story does seem a little weird at first, but once you get used to the crazy universe of the series, it is quite the series. I like the whole idea now, traveling the world looking to fulfill your dream. All of the characters have something really important to them that they want to do, and in working toward these goals together, they go on one heck of a journey. :D

And of course, some of the attacks they have are so extraordinary they sometimes look stupid. But if you're in to it like I am, that won't matter.

As for pet peeves, I'm actually annoyed at how Nami has been perceived, XD. During a battle, she seems to develop a sudden 'allergy' to clothing...and this 'condition' has been known to pop up at other times as well, XD. That and I wasn't too into the Thriller Bark Arc, though that has nothing to do with the series-just the fact that I dislike the living dead. ^^
 
It definitely deserves its spot on the Top Anime list.

Thanks for the information, I just wanted to know about One Piece since my friends have been talking about it so much. I'll probably get to watching it today and I'll see how it is.

I used to hate the art in Once Piece but after enough time I got used to it. The only thing I don't like about the show (Which tends to also be the case for long running fight shows like this) is how much filler they include. One Piece hasn't been as bad about it as some other series but it still gets to me.

A lot of people complain about the filler in One Piece, are they that bad?
 
I first saw One Piece before '4kids' bastardized it... I liked it quite a bit really.
There's filler in lots of anime, normally because the anime is based on a manga that is still being written, so they give the manga time to add new plot/story then they make episodes with it.

Isn't Funnimation doing the dub for One Piece now?

Yes, they are, and they aren't (as far as I've seen) censoring anything, and the translation is just about dead on with the original dialog, instead of removing words, or just replacing sentences with things that don't make sense like 4kids did...

Hm, the filler episodes are quite good imo. Some are really boring, but most of them are good.

Also, the art is quite bad in the beginning. But later on the art gets better, and it really suits the story imo.

Ok so I should ignore the bad art in the beginning? Don't worry, it was like that with Initial D as well.
 
I love One Piece. Was one of the Animes that I watched and I have watched it since then I have watched it every week. Always find it funny and has some great character development.

The art isn't the best, but the story's so great that it really doens't matter.

I really love this anime series, however, I have only seen episodes 1-26 so far, I still haven't gotten around to direct downloading the dual audio mkv dvd rips of episodes 27-39 (DVD Ripped from the One Piece Season One: Third Voyage Box Set) of the FUNimation Entertainment Uncut & Unedited version of One Piece (I only plan on watching it english dubbed with the subtitles turned off) to my external hard drive yet.
