Hey all, many of you may already know this, but a pokemon game has been available for online play since 2002 or earlier. It is now at v6 or greater and has trading, battling and exploration in an online world. I previously did not know of such a game which has so much progress, hope this was of some use to someone..

I've always heard of Pokémon Crater but never actually played it. Maybe I'll give it a shot now.

I remember playing this game years ago. It must've been shortly after it was first released. And I played it again a few months ago. I was never too keen on it, to be honest. The whole movement system annoyed me by having to refresh the page after every single step and the battle system was dull and not very challenging, you're automatically healed after every battle, you have unlimited PP and seemingly 100% accuracy even with the strongest attacks.

Yeah, I tried Crater, and hated it for all the same reasons Dawson did. There is another one, made with GameMaker, called Pokemon Twilight. It has a fully functional battle system (Granted all the moves are custom).

I can never get PokémonOL to work and this is just too chaotic.

It looks like you can do your own maps or something, from what I've read...

    I've tried POL.
What you can do at the moment is to choose 6 pokémon, chat and battle other players online.

I recall seeing this a few years ago. I signed up and got in and wow, so many people. I never really liked the single frame movement type of MMORPGs but hey, at least someone has created a working online game. That shows something.
