This blog entry will more or less be repeating what I said in Reputation: A warning.
There are two points I would like to point out.
vBulletin's reputation system is clearly flawed. Unlike MyBB's system where everyone is only ever allowed to give reputation to someone else once and the username is also displayed to show where the reputation comes from vBulletin's reputation system will ALWAYS favour the more popular no matter what angle you look at it from over regular people or those who would rather be outcasts. If you order every member descending in reputation, you'll see majority of everyone has 50 or so friends. Yes, I'm on the first page at the time of posting this entry because some idiot decided to bump me up there. xD Many of you will argue that the reputation will be given for quality posts but the problem is... no one pays attention to the outcasts with quality posts which unbalances the system anyway.
The second point I would like to make is that the staff are fussing over nothing. If you are part of other vBulletin communities with reputation turned on, you'll see that almost everyone has 100 green blocks (or red blocks) since one click of a button will change that. Eventually it will turn out like that so either stfu* or turn the reputation system off like it used to be.
Commenting needs to be approved personally by me so I can block any posts that I don't like because I'm just a meanie like that. =) And no, I'm not posting this here just because the thread was closed. I actually started this blog entry several minutes before that happened. ^^"
