i have a friend who has ARDS and i battled him before i fought the last gym leader. out of NOWHERE he has a bunch of level 100 pokes, and he had just finished fighting the elite 4.
it kind of ticked me off, because i told him trained pokemon are better than cheated ones, and all he had to say was "So?." what do you think of this person?

His loss, taking all the challenge out of the game. Let him cheat his way to a team of weak Lv 100 Pokémon, he's proved absolutely nothing to anyone.

yeah, he got his when his game file was deleted. showed him...

Personaly, I can't stand cheaters, wheres the challenge in just getting Uber strong pokemon and destroying everyone you come across, and using them in competitive battles...its just not fair.

    Bottom line-I hate cheaters!

First time through ANY game, do not cheat. It takes all the fun out of a game. trust me.

For several games, avoid cheating on repeat playthroughs as well. Many games have even more to offer if you beat them once, and once again, you don't do it justice by cheating.

That said, once you've beaten a game to death and and don't think it's fun anymore, cheats are a great way to revive that. Beat a pokemon game six times, and bored with it now? Try a cheat for six lvl 100's!

But the very big no-no here is competitive gaming. Never, NEVER, use cheats when playing against another human. Not only is it unfair to them, you aren't demonstrating any skill whatsoever by beating them with a hacked team.

I'd also like to point out that, if I ever fight you, do not use any hacked pokemon, or I will find you and Dark Volt Tackle you until nothing's left but ashes.

Well, that guy's annoying, but anyway, you can't judge all cheaters based on just one person.
Some players used chat codes when they only want to play for something else. For example, I already finished Pokémon Emerald on GBA, but I played the Emulator version with cheats because I only want to follow the storyline again, but quickly.
FYI, I'm a big-fan of RPG stories. I find it fun following them, they're like a short movie.
That's why I use cheats. Not for playing purpose, but for story purpose.
I hope this reply doesn't offend you. :(

...Sounds like my friend. Using cheats to EV/IV Train/Breed your Pokemon is probably fine (although it takes the sense of purpose out of it). Probably isn't the most patient guy in the world eh?

Only time I cheated was using a max Exp. points code to get my Eevee to evolve and to finish the Pokedex.

I cheat to get pokemon because my friend wanted it.
So I cheat to get a Pokemon then trade it to my friends and he gives me a random pokemon.
I don't use my action replay much.

I only cheat to get Pokemon that you can only get if you have the GB advance games inserted (such as I don't have Ruby but I really want that Zangoose), though I make sure to get it in the area that it's supposed to be captured in.

And event Pokemon, once I've beaten the game. . . because I find it ridiculous to waste my time and money just to travel to some other country by a given date to receive the key item for it.

I used to use cheats to strengthen my Pokemon, but then I decided that it was no fun that way.

What if you cheat in order to change Poke Ball graphics or Pokemon whose name(s) you cannot change?

Purely cosmetic 'cheats' like that are fine. I'm talking about lvl 100 Mewtwo with all stat maxed, infinite potions, unlimited cash, ect. Getting things through hard work (at least the first time) is just so much more satifying.

But, like I said, stuff like name changes and the like are fine. They don't give you an unfair advantae or anything like that.

I honestly don't care about "cheaters" as long as they don't advance to multiplayer. People are allowed to do whatever they want in their game with NPCs since they don't have feelings or emotions. In Multiplayer however it completely unbalances the careful balance the developers made for the game. At least in older generations you have the ability to hit the other person if they cheat on you. In online multiplayer... its a little harder to get back at them

its not smart to cheat when you just got the game but its his life let him cheat, we all cheat once in our lives, dont get stressed out about it

    :t354:TG

Grr...I hate cheaters. Any of them. I hate ANYTHING hacked, really. D: The reason I release any hacked Pokemon I get from the GTS.

I despise them because, some people just work very, very hard to get the EV'd, shiny, Lv. 100 Pokemon they have, and knowing that someone could generate that exact thing in about 1 minute disgusts me. >_>

I don't care. To each their own. And there is no reason crying and complaining over people who use cheats. There's more important things to worry about.

"Opinions on cheaters", sounds a bit strong to me. You make out that people who "cheat" sound like a heinous monsters!
I think "cheating" is fair enough if everything's above board. Legit movesets, few shinies, not 31 IVs or 255 EVs in every stat. It is just a time saving method. I don't really have the time, patience or any useful way to check IVs. And there is NEVER going to be a Pokémon event in the Repubic of Ireland.

In no way are trained Pokémon better than "cheated" ones.
If you're sensible about "cheating" - They are exactly the same.

    So what if he has a team of Level 100 Pokés? Don't have you have legit ones? And seriously, "so"? No other opinions? ¬¬;
Naturally, it takes the challenge out of the game. Trying completing a game using only Cherrim and HM slaves, if you WANT a challenge. ;)
Anyways, if the Pokémon are above board, I don't care where they came from. And for the those Wonder Guarded Dark/Ghost Pokémon - carry a Rampardos with Mold Breaker. ^^

*yes my team was made on Pokésav*
