I'm trying out a new "stall" team lol. Sure it's been done before but I've never really used stall in metagame before so I figured I'd give it a go.

    Hippowdon @ Leftovers
    252 HP / 168 Def / 88 Sp. Def
    Impish
    -Stealth Rock
    -Earthquake
    -Slack Off
    -Ice Fang

I'm not to sure about final slot. Reguardless of what I try I'm going to be walled by a steel by it, whether it be skarmory or a Bronzong. So I considered roar for the PHazing capabilities just warry on adding it or not.

    Skarmory @ Shed Shell
    252 HP / 64 Att / 176 Def / 16 speed
    Impish
    -Spikes
    -Whirlwind
    -Roost
    -Brave Bird

My spiker. Lay down the spikes and start to PHaze away. Not much more to say.

    Tentacruel @ Leftovers
    252 HP / 120 Def / 136 SpD
    Calm
    -Toxic Spikes
    -Surf
    -Knock Off
    -Rapid Spin

Wasn't sure on the last slot here either. It's just a standard ol' standard Tspike layer. It's main usefulness is being able to come in on quite a few of MixApes attacks whether it be CC/GK/HP Ice/Fire Blast. I'm sure to take quite a few hits and almost always get atleast one layer up.

    Blissey @ Leftovers
    Calm
    252 Defense / 176 Sp. Def / 80 HP
    -Wish
    -Protect
    -Flamethrower
    -Toxic

This set is simply used to trap a pokemon and come in with a pokemon who needs to set up and have free capability of doing so. Wish is for the recovery on Noir and Tentacruel who each have very sad recovery options.

    Rotom-H @ Choice Scarf
    Timid
    252 Spe / 252 Sp. Att / 4 HP
    -Overheat
    -Shadowball
    -Thunderbolt
    -Trick

Anti spinner pokemon. He's really only got one purpose. Wisp the steels like Zong or Skarm who are immune to my Tspikes. Also it's good for destroying the likes of Scizor and friends. I chose Nightshade just for better residual damage.

    Politoad @ Leftovers
    Calm
    252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
    -Perish Song
    -Toxic
    -Surf
    -Haze

This guy is basically my answer to some steel types namely skarmory and to give me more leech Seed damage.

Things like Blissey seem like they could be a nuisance but comign in on stealth rock and spikes and sand storm taking it out wouldn't be to difficult of a thing to do. Especially if i land some Toxic damage with leech seed to boot.

It needs work so I figured I'd ask you guys for opinions :P

Blissey over Umberon for Wish support and she's an excellent special wall.
You might want to consider Rotom-H over Dusknoir as he blocks Rapid Spin as well and serves as a check to Scizor. Other then that fairly decent stall team ;)

Conflicting status isnt going to work. Just stick to Toxic damage because you have t-spikes. Aka Toxic >> Sleep powder on growth and Toxic >> W-O-W on Sucknoir so you can hit floating junk like zappy and what not. But yeah basically what pokedra said in regards to rotom and Bliss.

Rapid Spin is 100% needed on stall or if they set up their spikes against you walling stuff becomes a hell of a lot harder. Put it on tenta please.

You are at risk from "last poke sweeps" aka if their last pokemon has a stat up move + rest (see curselax and calm cune, yes these are both still used very frequently according to smogons shoddy statistics this month) and you cant PHaze these and will be thus screwed. Perish Song would be nice or Encore.

Ok I changed a few things. Politoed is my favorite Perish songer and I figured he'd work best here. Obviously he has water absorb.

Wish Bliss wasn't sure on the EV spread.

Rotom H with trick for counter blisseys.

Let me know what you think and thanks for the help.

This is basically a poor version of ObiStall to be honest...especially Politoad. Honestly, what is that even doing? Basically all it does is beat Curselax and defensive Suicune (which doesn't carry Rest much at all). It just is a horrible Pokemon and not useful for this team. Replace (and it doesn't even need to be a Perish Song pokemon since those are only good for a last Pokemon Curselax...which should not keep you up at night).

Also, Rotom's set is messed up. TrickScarf is just horrible when Rotom is getting hammered by SS and SR damage, and it won't be doing what it needs to do defensively (countering a few threats and spin blocking...both it will fail at). You already have all 3 forms of entry hazards, so your Blissey breaking shouldn't be a problem (and really, even if it is around, it's not much of a threat seeing as its goal is to stop offensive threats which you have none of). It just...doesn't fit. Use a defensive set or something but...not TrickScarf >_<

    March Usage statistics said:
    | Suicune | Move | Rest | 46.4 |
    | Suicune | Move | Calm Mind | 88.7 |

    | Snorlax | Move | Rest | 58.2 |
    | Snorlax | Move | Curse | 54.2 |

    Thats enough to warrant mention.

I also disagree, ive run stall in every tier and if you dont have perish song (or encore) you get owned pretty badly when last pokemon sweeps are played well.

In addition it covers, granted they are rare, Ingrain Baton Pass chains (which for some reason people use but utterly destroy stall) and weird stuff like SD Cradilly (lol, but he is actually weak to it o_o) and even the odd CM Clefable also some sub mind pokes. Honestly its better to have either p-song or encore that to not have it, ive been smacked around by some of the aformentioned pokes without it and it really isnt fun.

But your main point, there are better users of the move than Politoed with which i agree.

I'm not going to turn this RMT into a huge debate and I'm sure D_A feels the same way so I'll make this short and sweet...

Perish Song basically requires a team slot to take out BP teams which are essentially dead, CurseLax which isn't that common, and defensive Suicune which doesn't even threaten most stall teams since it lacks the firepower to take out Blissey (and Tentacruel if it lacks HP Electric). Sure, if you don't have it, SD Cradily and CM Clefable run you over, but how often do you see either of those in OU play? You're using a slot for things that aren't common and/or threatening when you could be using it to strengthen the core of your team against threats that really matter: Salamence, Lucario, Gyarados...all are much bigger issues. And since ObiStall (which is essentially what this team is) has enough trouble with common Pokemon in the metagame (MixMence, especially the new one, can really run your team over, for example), you'll be needing that slot.

Basically, D_A is right. That will all likely give you trouble without a Perish Song user. However, you're putting your team at risk using them as well since you're open to a lot of other things...since you can't cover anything no matter what Pokemon you put together. Basically, it's your decision to decide what you lose to...since you will inevitably lose to some things.

Don't use Politoad, use Celebi. She also serves as a good check to Gyarados and has Perish Song and is much better then Politoad for OU play =/

You don't want Scarf Rotom-H on a stall team. Defensive works best :)

    Rotom-H @ Leftovers
    Nature : Bold(-Atk,+Def)
    EV : 252 HP / 168 Def / 88 Spe
    -Overheat
    -Thunderbolt
    -Shadow Ball
    -Reflect / Will-O-Wisp

88 Speed EV's allow it outrun SD Scizor and I'd go Reflect over Wow as it conflicts with TSpikes.

When I played stall people usually thought the best way to take down me, was to spread status and then work from there. Now as stall teams usually cause long games, the status can really add up.

Sure, two of your pokemon resist toxic and Blissey has natural cure.

I know people on this forum are against status absorbers, so I suggest Heal Bell on Blissey. I would say aromatherapy but thats illegal with wish, so Heal Bell it is.

For some reason I thought it wasnt, all the more reason for celebi

Well if im running celebi for Perish song support It might be possible to run Heal Bell on it as well (hmm)
