    I once had an awesome team based around Mega Lucario, but since the Smog banned that I've been making so many different teams and nothing feels right.

    This is the third incantation of the most recent team and I was wondering it PokeCommunity could offer any help. :)

    Ability: Lightningrod
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
    Timid Nature
    - Thunderbolt
    - Overheat
    - Hidden Power [Ice]
    - Volt Switch

    My second favourite Mega and pivot special sweeper. Lightning Rod comes in handy to cover Mandibuzz from Special attackers, and Manectric's small bulk usually lets me survive a hit upon switch in. Intimidate and Volt Switch are amazing together.
    Mega Manectric works well with Greninja and my walls, since Intimidate cripples physical attackers after switching in and out.

    Ability: Overcoat
    EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
    Bold Nature
    IVs: 0 Atk
    - Foul Play
    - Roost
    - Defog
    - Toxic

    I loved Mandibuzz before Gen VI. *puts on hipster glasses* Mandibuzz is a staple for this team. She eats up physical attackers. Bold and 0 IVs because this set was around when Swagger wasn't banned. Not sure why I still have it, since Mandi resists anyway.
    Mandi is my physical wall and one of my favourite Pokemon to use. I really like this set.

    Dragonite @ Sitrus Berry
    Ability: Multiscale
    EVs: 216 HP / 216 Def / 76 SpD
    Calm Nature
    - Draco Meteor
    - Thunder Wave
    - Icy Wind
    - Roost

    Yeah I don't know what Dragonite is doing on this team. I was going for a bulky support but I can't muster anything that synergises with the rest of the team.

    Gengar @ Focus Sash
    Ability: Levitate
    EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
    Timid Nature
    IVs: 0 Atk
    - Shadow Ball
    - Sludge Bomb
    - Taunt
    - Dazzling Gleam

    Gengar is my spin blocker and anti-lead Pokemon. Taunt shuts down a lot of things and with naturally really high SpA I can clean up with Gengar, or dent bulky Pokemon upon switch in/attempted stall. I decided to have 0 IVs in attack because of Foul Play, but I recently threw on the Focus Sash so I can survive a hit if I get caught off guard.
    Gengar really is only here as clean up and anti-lead. I really like using Gengar so I'd prefer not to change Gengar out for something else.

    Clefable @ Flame Orb
    Ability: Magic Guard
    EVs: 188 HP / 184 Def / 136 SpD
    Bold Nature
    - Moonblast
    - Calm Mind
    - Trick
    - Wish

    Clefable here has recently replaced Sylveon. I was getting sick of how physically weak Sylveon was. I just mucked around with the EVs again five mins ago, so I really don't know how these will work. The idea in my head is tank, Calm Mind, Wish the Moonblast or Trick, to get free Leftovers or a useful item.
    Clefable works as a wall I guess. I had a specially bulky set but it let me down on the physical side a bit. I dont know how this new set will work with the rest of the team.

    Greninja @ Choice Band
    Ability: Protean
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
    Jolly Nature
    - U-turn
    - Waterfall
    - Night Slash
    - Acrobatics

    Choice Band Greninja is so strong. U-Turn and Volt Switch on Mega Manectric are a great combo. I think thats where things end. Choice Band doesnt really help, apart from guaranteeing KOs on most things I can hit with SE damage. Using a Scarf would be a bit redundant. Should I run a mixed life orb set? I was thinking about that but I really needed another physical attacker for this team.



    I'd really like for a good physical attacker that does not give me another weakness. I know I should replace Dragonite with something else but I dont know what I even want to do. I can work with just five Pokemon, but sometimes I need something else, something I dont have and something I cant think of. I know there's a Poke that will fit in nicely into this team but I cant think of it.

    Mandibuzz now uses the spread of 248 HP/136 Def/108 SDef/16 Spe to outspeed max Speed Mawile and Azumarill while avoiding the 2HKO from Landorus' Focus Blast.

    Why do you even have a Sitrus Berry on Dragonite? Leftovers is better because it provides steady, albeit small, recovery. It's better off in an offensive role, despite its bulky leaning stats. Here's a bulky offensive take on Dragonite. Leave the bulky support role to something else:
    -Dragon Claw
    -Earthquake
    -Extreme Speed
    -Roost
    Nature: Adamant
    EVs: 216 HP/64/228 SDef
    Item: Leftovers
    Ability: Multiscale

    Here's a better take on anti-defensive Gengar. It forces switches a lot, which gives it plenty of opportunities to set up a Substitute:

    Nature: Timid

    Clefable is seriously doing too much at once. It has a wide move pool sure, but it must choose between Wish supporting or Calm Minding up:

    I'm against physical Greninja. Its physical move pool isn't as strong as its special one. Waterfall, Rock Slide, Acrobatics and Night Slash aren't as strong and don't provide compared to Hydro Pump, Extrasensory, Dark Pulse and Ice Beam. Acrobatics is only useful if the user isn't holding anything (or a Flying Gem should that be released). Always use special Greninja, no questions asked:
    -Hydro Pump/Surf
    -Ice Beam
    -Extrasensory
    -Dark Pulse/Hidden Power (Fire/Grass)/Grass Knot/Spikes
    Nature: Timid
    EVs: 252 SAtk/4 SDef/252 Spe

    I've used this team quite a bit. It's alright but definitely not my best team. It works quite well to stall until I have a clean sweep, which suits my play style.

    The spread you suggested definitely helps. Mandibuzz kinda does loose it's footing against Steel and Poison type Pokemon, for me anyway. If anything Mandibuzz is a dead weight that's only here to use Defog. Foul Play doesn't really help since most hard hitting things can outspeed and OHKO/2HKO Mandi. I don't know if I want to keep Mandi here or not.

    This is an interesting spread that I had to get used to, but it works. I needed Iron Head to help counter Fairies, which Dragonite is pretty good at with Multiscale and good bulk. Flinch hax is great too.

    Substitues don't fit into my play style at all, at least not with Gengar's role in this team. Gengar counters fairies and generally trolls my opponent, which I like. I need a poison=type move though. I really do.

    Pretty good stalling, though is very lacking. I would like to see Toxic or something on this set to force a switch of give more value to Clefable here. I guess I could ditch Protect since it's predicted and I don't absolutely need it.
    A question though, what would be better for a Wish support set, Magic Guard or Unaware?

    Relying on Dragon Dance is tough but it pays off and really helps. I might replace Bounce with Earthquake, for coverage. Bounce doesn't really work with me either.



    I definitely think this team is better, though like I said it's not my best team and OU is not my forte. It works in creating fun, and that's what counts.

    Don't use Iron Head on Dragonite. Without it, Dragonite is currently walled by Steel Pokemon. Earthquake is always the better option and Gengar handles Fairies fine anyways.
     
    I think mega gardevoir is a problem for this team, azumarill is quite hard to switch into as well. I think cb scizor might be a better choice over mandibuzz since it can form a volt turn combo with mega manectric to break down walls and mitigate opposing sweepers. I would then replace dnite for defog latias since they play a similar role but latias is generally better as a specially bulky dragon a d allows you to replace mandibuzx. Finally i would run cm unaware clefable over the current set, it gives you a sweeper vs bulky teams and ensures zardx or bd azu dont beat you.

    I've given Dragonite Earthquake instead of Iron Tail. I liked having Iron Tail but I can manage without it now.

    I've dropped Mandibuzz for Scizor, since Mandibuzz was kinda a fifth wheel, not doing anything. Thanks for the replacement suggestion, Exile! :) I'll keep Dragonite over Latias for now.

    I going with the Unaware Clefable role now. Not having Heal Bell might suck but I'll see how I manage without it.
