Yes it is. But that's like saying that a dime is worth more than you think. It does more than its size advertises, but its actual value is still nothing and situational. Still, when I got a chance, I managed to have a lot of fun with this guy.
Pachirisu @ Air Balloon / Leftovers
Volt Absorb (DW)
Timid (+ Spe - Atk)
252 HP / 252 Speed / 6 Def
~Volt Switch / Thunderbolt
~Thunder Wave
~Super Fang
~Charm
This is a slight variation of the "Hurt" Pachirisu set I found on Smogon back in '07. Back in those D/P days, I managed to catch quite a few people off guard with this thing. With 317 speed, can outspeed a lot of neutral and then proceeded to "shut them down". Most notable case was against Garchomp. I would use Charm before they could start using Swords Dance, and if by some chance Pachi didn't die yet, Super Fang would've put quite the dent in its plans since most were running Yache at the time. Otherwise, a Thunder Wave is always nice against those who don't resist it, Charm coupled with its already high Sp. Def helps this little guy to live at least two turns while forcing switches and to cause damage with Super Fang. Volt Switch / T-Bolt is just a filler in case I have no more need to use the previous moves. Now, with its DW ability and Air Balloon, Pachi now gains immunities which can help with switch prediction. My team has always had a problem against Rotom and Jolteon, but now that I've added this guy, I'm hoping my problems will be lessened.
Of course, I don't play PO or anything like that. Just wi-fi. I've only tested this guy on Random wi-fi and the results were desirable. There are more positive speed natured Pokemon than I would like, but it can't be helped. Substitute is also extraordinarily gay.
Now, tell me why I'm wrong and completely stupid for liking to use this, competitive people.
