Parody anime...What do you think of them?

What do you anime watchers think of all the parody anime out there? Do you enjoy watching them or you think they are just a lame/stupid attempt/excuse of purposely mocking another series? Either way, list some of the parody anime you enjoyed or did not enjoy watching.

I personally love them. Oh and since you have Light as your avatar, I assume you like death note? You should try Onani Master Kurosawa. It starts off as a parody of Death Note and evolves into a coming of age story. You should try it.

I find many, if well executed, to be perfectly enjoyable, and the ones that drag on for a while tend to evolve into the series they're parodying, but setting new standards for future parodies in their genre to parody.

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei is one of my favourite comedy anime series and it's a parody on the whole slice of life genre. I don't think i've seen any other intentional parodies on a single show though.

Honestly some of them just ruin the rest of them with bad voice actor and poor video quality. Of course there are still some good ones.

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei all the way. It mocks everything from anime to society in general. The comedy can be a little dark for some people, but that's why I love it~

I love anything made by BlueMacandCheese! They made the amazing Pokemon DP Parody and the Ouran High School Host Club Parody. And they did a wonderful job on the voices. Apart from that I do enjoy Digimon Tamers Abridged Parody. Seriously has got to be the funniest well Voiced Act Parody I've seen

Alternate Reality DBZ made by SSJGozar and DBZ Abridged by TeamFourStar are purely awesome to watch. SSJGozar is doing really nice work with voice acting. His Vegeta and Raditz voices are the funniest in this series.

Yea, this is probably the best one, IMO. I usually do not like anime with Parody as a central/primary genre. I like Parody to be a secondary/not-main genre. Another good Parody was Hayate; The Combat Butler; it was pretty good, too

It's all about the delivery of the jokes whether or not any comedy anime would work, including parodies. I myself quite enjoyed Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Gintama, and Seitokai no Ichizon. Lucky Star too, I guess

They honestly don't appeal to me, much like the "Scary Movie"-type films never interested me all that much. I'm into some comedy and parody, but some of these shows take it too far for my tastes. Plus, I'd rather watch the original source material.

Depends on the level of parody, how funny the show actually is, and how well the references and Take Thats are integrated into the story.

I love Yu-Gi-Oh the Abridged Series by LittleKuriboh it hilarious!
I also remember watching a parody for soul eater once, it was really funny but I can't remember where I watched it! I don't think it was on youtube :\

The only parody anime I was is DBZ Abridged. I love it. Team 4 Star does a great job. Love the ghost Nappa, and over course Mr. Popo. Krillin is probably getting pwnt as we speak thus the count is raising even more.

if were talkin about parody anime you cant go wrong with seitokai no ishizon or seitokai yakuin domo, thoughim a big fan of ichiban ushio no dai maou.

Parodies, with good execution and recording, are really enjoyable. I actually love a few Pokémon parodies on YouTube.
