We saw in DP120 that, in some point in the future, Brandon will return and have a battle with Paul in Snowpoint (there 's snow on the trees by the pyramid). We see that Paul is battling with Hariyama against Brandon's Regirock. After this, there is a scene with Regigigas, which presumably means they will be going to the Snowpoint temple. Ash, Dawn and Brock are wearing winter clothes.

I think this is extremely interesting and can't wait to see what happens! People have speculated that Brandon may come back, but I don't think anyone ever took it seriously.

Who do you think will win? Paul or Brandon? Does Paul know that Ash has already defeated Brandon? I know a lot of people have joked about this - but do you think Brandon is Paul's father? It would deepen the story of Paul being angry with Reiji for losing to Brandon and could make his own battle with Brandon more intense and would probably put more pressure on Paul to win since Ash already has ~ It could also explain Reiji's name haha.

Here's some pics from DP120 showing the future episode with Paul and Brandon: (sorry it's YouTube quality)

    Spoiler:

Looking at the pics, there is some resemblance among Paul and Brandon; however, I think Brandon must have seriously left Paul in the cold (no pun intended) for Paul to grow up to be so ruthless and cold. Consider that Brandon at least cares, while Paul doesn't.

The battle's outcome would be interesting, seeing as it would be a big fat slap in the face to his brother if Paul won. At the same time, it seems unlikely for Paul to win using a Pokemon we've never seen before. :S

They do look alike but Im not so sure. I think Brandon will win the battle but who knows?

I imagine Paul losing to Brandon, Ash appearing on the scene, Brandon welcoming him, Paul making a comment, Brandon revealing Ash had beat him, and Paul wondering how.

Btw, I like Brock's new coat.

brandon could also be his uncle.

BTW that scene with regigigas looks very movie ish for some reason.

I've always thought those two resembled eachother...xD Kinda creepy.
I think Brandon's gonna win, but Paul's pretty good too...
So...how does Ash fit in to all this?

    Repeat after me, writers:
    Jindai-san is Shinji's father.
    Jindai-san is Shinji's father.
    Jindai-san is Shinji's father.

:) If Jindai IS Shinji's dad, I'd be sooooo happy.
Off-topic: I remember watching a Brandon VS Satoshi video in Youtube and some people said Shinji and Jindai looked alike.
So I came with the assumption that Jindai + Shinji = father + son.

Besides, it deepens the backstory between Shinji and his personality.
First we got a brother, now a dad. Isn't that GREAT???

We better get a Shinji emotional scene about how lonely he felt inside without his father. Along with an awesome battle of course.

    That'd be scary.
As much as I like Shinji and this idea of Jindai-is-his-father thing, I shiver to your idea.

Or maybe I shiver because I'm cold. Hmm, I need my jacket... *rumages through closet*

No one get their hopes up. This resemblance thing could easily be a coincidence. Like someone said, there's a lot of characters in this show who are related but don't look like each other and the same time, characters who aren't related but ends up looking like each other.

Anyway, I do support the Paul/Brandon thing though.

You know you'd love that scene. Maybe Shinji might try to injure Jindai and Hikari will have to hold him back.[/fanfiction]

    LOL.
Yeah, that would be a good idea.

Or maybe Satoshi sees how lonely Shinji feels deep deep down his heart and he talks to him in front of a full moon, and they become friends. [/fanfiction]

Just kidding. Omit the friend part. Shinji could've just ignored him, but deep down his heart, he actually thought over what Satoshi told him. :) Yeah, that's what I am.

    Sounds interesting.

BTW, has anyone else noticed that Paul's brother only won six of the Frontier symbols? I think it's fair to guess that it's Brandon's symbol that he never won, since he seems to be the strongest of them.

Yes. In fact, Takeshi (Brock) once mentioned to Shinji (it was "Aiding the Enemy!", DP100) that Reiji has all the gym badges, but Reiji doesn't have the last symbol, which was, in fact, the Brave Symbol. And the Brave Symbol IS Brandon's symbol.

    See the connection here?

That would explain why he will be battling him :p
