I know this discussion was already held in the other thread I made, but in that thread, we were pitting all of Ash's main rivals in general. But if we were to pit JUST Paul and Gary together in a six-and-six Pokemon battle, who do you think would be the victor?
Also, unlike the other thread I made, I added a poll in the post too... ;)
Anyway, here's MY answer:

Anyway, here's MY answer:
Spoiler:
If we were to contrast Paul and Gary in certain aspects, then:
Experience
Training
Method of Raising Pokemon
Now it's kinda obvious who would win, isn't it?
Experience
Spoiler:
Gary has only travelled the Kanto and Johto Regions, participating only in their respective leagues, losing to all of them.
Paul, on the other hand, has travelled through the Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh Regions and participated in all their leagues (although he lost to all of them).
Paul obviously wins this round. One point goes to Paul :)

Training
Spoiler:
Gary is DEFINITELY out of training, as he took the researcher path a long time ago, way back when the Johto League Silver Conference ended.
Paul still continues to train up to this day although, following the events of Sinnoh League Victors, I'm sure Paul no longer abuses his Pokemon like he used to.
Paul wins this round, obviously.

Method of Raising Pokemon
Spoiler:
Gary raises his Pokemon with-- I'm not sure actually. But definitely not as tough or intense as Paul and at least shows some love.
Paul is somewhat harsh on his Pokemon and, well, you know him. But we all know it's effective as well. This way, his Pokemon grow stronger and level up faster and strongerand become ninjas. :)
It's a tie. One point to each.
