I want to buy PBR...I don't have a DS. Is that okay? I mean, I want to compete with the Wi-Fi and everything, can I raise Pokemon in PBR? Is it kinda like an RPG?

You can play it with a rental team, but the main job of PBR is to be D/P's version of Emerald's Battle Frontier so works best with your own D/P pokemon (although it would work even better if you just left it in the shop and get a different game and if you must get it wait a bit till it's come down in price.

What will you experience from it, then? You will encounter a series of tournaments for you to battle your way through, that's what. If you don't have Diamond/Pearl on DS, you recieve rental pokémon, and they won't even be the ones that you choose properly - you're granted pre-set trainer cards with pokémon selected for you on them. Also, this game is no RPG, and I suggest you don't bother purachasing this game without even having D/P.

I bought the game today anyway. I like it alot! I received pretty awesome rental Pokemon too (I dunno if they're all the same though...) and my dad is getting me a DS and Pearl for my birthday soon, so I won't have to play it too long with rental Pokemon.

It's good that you're getting Pearl soon - as the game doesn't have very much to offer IMO if you don't have one of the DS games. Winning with your own Pokémon is so much more satisfying than winning with rentals! I'm sure you'll enjoy it. :)

Yeah, all Rental Pokemon are the same you start with a choice of two, Either a Boy with a Sinnoh set or a Girl with a Kanto set, and you get to unlock more by battling through the gateway colosseum, anyway give PBR another day or so and you will start to get bored quickly because i was the same as you when i first got it i couldn't stop playing it.

Do you know if you can unlock Chikorita?

I hope I don't get tired of it that soon...lol.
