So my txt files (eg pokemon.txt) are now .dat! It looks all weird and it's practically impossible to edit them or add things like pokemon or define trainers. I've tried saving them as a txt file- it saves as dat anyway. I've tried renaming them with ".txt" at the end- Still saves as .dat. I've tried re downloading essentials- all the PBS files are STILL .dat and the text is all gibberish. My friend downloaded essentials-all his PBS files were .dat. Was there an update or something? How can I do things like add pokemon, edit an evolution method or define a trainer with more detail (eg define their pokemon's movesets and define their battle theme) if I can't even read the files anymore? Is there a "fix"?

Thank you! For some reason this folder wasn't there and it took me way too long to figure that out :P

Hey, I know this is a really old post, but I am running into the same problem, only the download links had expired. Does anyone know what I have to download to fix this?
