PC VGC Showdown
For a long time, there have been two primary formats of competitive battling: Smogon's Showdown tiers and the official VGC. Here on PC, we tend to be more focused on Smogon's format, but for this tournament we are turning that on its head. While we will still be using our Showdown server to host battles in this tournament, we will be making use of the most recent VGC20 format.
The tournament itself will otherwise be following the standard tourney structure that has become the norm here on PC.
If you want to familiarise yourself with VGC a little further, you can find more info here. We will be using the Series 5 Format.
1. All rounds will be best of three. This means to defeat your opponent, you must beat them twice.
2. You must record the results of your battles in this thread. This includes replays of your completed battles.
3. Each round of the tournament will last a week. If at the end of each round, you have not completed your battles, the more active participant will be awarded the win.

A Brief Intro to VGC
VGC is quite different to Smogon's system. There is no tier system, only a single unified banlist. Furthermore, VGC is a double battle format where you may only make use of four of your available six Pokemon. There are a number of other smaller differences as well, such a lack of Ability, Status and move clauses and an inability to use more than one of the same item.If you want to familiarise yourself with VGC a little further, you can find more info here. Rules
In addition to the standard VGC rules being used in your battles, we also have some more general tournament rules to keep things running smoothly.1. All rounds will be best of three. This means to defeat your opponent, you must beat them twice.
