In the event we're running over in Pokémon Gaming Central, in which members have proposed ideas for what they want out of the next generation of main series games. We've accepted suggestions, and then said suggestions were compiled into a poll and put to a vote. In the end, we'll have a hypothetical 7th gen game that represents the ideal main-series game that we, the members of the Pokécommunity, want! Once we're finished with the event I'd like to write an article summarizing the final product. Basically, just giving a description of the game, explaining some of the discussion points that came up in the thread regarding particular features, sharing member quotes, etc.

Let me know if this is okay!

This is a really cool idea and I would love to see it featured on PC Daily. I think it would have to tackle some core components though: the plot, the characters, the region and the new Pokemon. As long as those general aspects are covered, I think it will make for a really interesting read.

It's a thumbs up from me!

Sweet! It wouldn't exactly have plot or character details in it though, since most of what we covered was new features that we'd want to introduce and old features we want to see brought back. So it'd be more of a piece on that. Like for example:

HMs have always been a staple of the main series Pokémon games. Ever since our original journey through the Kanto region in Red, Blue, and Yellow, HMs have been required to teach your party Pokémon special moves that allow them to perform various overworld actions. Want to cross that body of water? You'd better have a Pokémon who knows Surf on your team. Want to cut down that tree stands in your path to the Pokémon league? Too bad, you'll need a Pokémon who knows Cut if you want to proceed.

So we, the members of the PokéCommunity decided, "What if we could just ride our Lapras across water, without having Surf clog up that precious moveslot? In our community-built seventh gen game, we can surf on Pokémon that can swim, Pokémon with sharp claws can cut down trees, strong Pokémon can move boulders, no HMs needed! This frees up a moveslot, allowing us to give our party Pokémon a moveset with greater in-battle merit."

Something like that. Just analyzing the benefits that would come with the various features that were chosen and how they'd impact the gameplay experience. Perhaps we could discuss certain features in the context of gaming as a whole (for example, how well have branching storylines worked in other non-Pokémon games?) Any other suggestions anyone has on what to write about are welcome!

Faaaaair enough! That would still be an interesting read so no problem. I just want it to be broad and cover at least a few different things. If those things are different features, then all good!

Sounds like a good idea to me. Maybe consider adding that it'll be used for a Daily article as well for general awareness. =)

I suppose the introduction of such an article will need to explain this as well - some game mechanic features.

Depends on how often/how detailed you would do that. I'll warn against too much lest it gets in the way of the article's main purpose, but some would be good in validating the ideas had.

A section for "things you don't want to see again" would be cool too :)
Neat idea! Maybe best for a separate article (and hence separate discussions thread in say PGC), so not to take away from the purpose of the existing thread. I bet plenty can be written for both to fill out separate articles as well.

You think an article like that could work as a separate Daily? I can elaborate on it, but I'm not sure that you meant it to be here or in PGC.
I think it's best discussed in a separate thread to this one within this section (best to keep different article discussions to different threads most times when not part of the same series), and once we figure out the details for it we can make a thread in PGC to see what features members think shouldn't return.

I'm kinda kicking myself for not finding a way to fit plot into the event haha. But yea, so I guess it would be a matter of, do we want the article to be a summary of the event, or our thoughts and hopes for 7th gen in general?
