    I'm a gay male. And I love being a male. I've never had a desire to be female. However, as an active participant in my local gay community, I have numerous friends who are MTF or FTM. For those who don't know, those are terms for people transitioning between genders. Their reasons vary but all in all, they feel they were born the wrong gender.

    Unfortunately, there are people on the internet who just want to "spread their wings" and get attention for themselves by saying they want to be called female or male now. They'll invent some trivial alternate persona and DEMAND to be called by their new gender's pronouns and their new name.

    More often than not, they don't have real gender issues. They've just been on a forum for too long and have noticed people are growing tired of their know-it-all attitude and general idiocy. So, deciding to shake things up a bit, they think it'll be cool to be a male/female now!

    "WOW I AM SO PROGRESSIVE AND FORWARD-THINKING! LOOK AT ME CHALLENGING GENDER ROLES! I AM SO HIP AND COOL AND SUPPORTIVE AND AWESOME!"

    No. No you're not. You're close minded and trivializing the transition people are going through. You're providing ammunition to opponents of this harmless transition. Stop being an attention grabber.

    And if you really do think you're born the wrong gender, stop parading it around a Pokemon forum. I understand you may not have much of a life off of PC. To some, PC is your life. But honestly, this isn't the place to start off your new life as a male/female. Do it somewhere it matters.

    I agree. What you're talking about is a very personal and very real issue for a lot of people. Matters like this shouldn't be trivialized for the sake of someone's attention-seeking.
     
    I try really hard to believe people aren't doing it for attention, but in certain situations it just becomes a little too unbelievable.

    People who actually have that issue, do anything but parade it around. The farthest I've gone on PC is taking away my Gender Bender emblem. :/ Anyone who acts out about being transgender or homosexual to get attention on the internet.. is.. ugh. It reminds me of the kids in highschool who went on about being Bi, just because it was trendy, and let them hog attention-- I'mmm gonna shut up now, and stop while I'm ahead. xD; /goes to get a soda

    Trust me, I would have liked to have been a lot harsher. But I'll read over what you wish to post to make sure its not crossing any lines.
     
    Some people do just about anything to look edgy.

    I know someone who's gone and said she's recovered from a rare type of cancer simply because she enjoyed the fact that they thought she was BRAVE and MATURE and AN INSPIRATION to others. Guess what, she didn't have cancer. Worst thing she's ever had was a concussion from soccer.

    It's almost narcissistic, the way these people act.

    i think this person expected more blind praise than perceptive honesty (which they seem to be interpreting as blind retaliation =/). i doubt this person has a psychological condition dealing with his gender and persona, but he seems to have personality issues dealing with his ego. at some point we all face the absurd notion that the world does not revolve around us, and he can't seem to wrap his mind around that- which is seriously sad and unsettling.

    i'm glad you made an entry about this, because my honesty with him got me censored :/

    I just said my two cents in how he said they were attention hogging, and instead of ignoring them they did get his attention after all.
    And, I dunno who you're talking about since I never met that person. Care to PM me who that is? I think I know but I'd appreciate if you'll do it anyway.
     
    i mean to say he's incredibly arrogant and egocentric. it's pachy i'm talking about.
     
    I don't even get why they have the gut to do it. I'd never would, for example. Because they just get marked like this, attention gits, if attention is all they want off it.
