People's Choice Awards!

This thread is to clarify a doubt I had...

In my old forum, I used to run competitions called the PCAs (People's Choice Award) every week and they are fun contests with a huge variety in themes, making it eligible for anyone and everyone to join and have good fun in. (I shall explain more rules as I open the thread) Basically, at the end of the each contest, a poll is set up where not the judges, but the PEOPLE of the forum always get to choose the winners of their choice.

At the end of the contest, I personally make a Pokémon badge (of choice) for the first three winners and give it to them for their siggy and I include many other prizes too. Prizes vary according to sponsorship and resources.

So, my question is:

May I start these weekly contests on this forum now.

Also, if I can, may I know where to post these threads? I'm kind of lost here at the moment. So, please do link me to the section where I should be posting threads like these.

Secondly, me and my bro used to run the Poke News Network (PNN), a thread where we publish fun and interactive threads that become the newspaper of the forum, bringing forum members to the limelight, interviewing them, making puzzles and stories and even linking shortcuts to other threads for a better understanding of the forum to new comers...

(If I ever get the time to start the PNN here, may I know which section it should go to? And also, may I know if I will be allowed to do it please? :) )

And finally, the General Quiz Contest thread:

This thread is again, a collaborated work by me and my bro where we post a general knowledge quiz (revoving around a variety of fields from around the world) every time we can and we wait for the people to reply to the quiz (one at a time). Each right answer wins the person a point and if they collect 100 points, they win something and so on.

Usually, I used to pin this topic. But, since it may be new here, I don't mind if it doesn't get pinned. I just want to know where I can post this thread.. And if you guys would like to have it here on the forum..

The rules will be neatly, and clearly stated in the respective threads, of course.

I'm just posting my ideas here to know if they'll be ok to implement here or not..

Please do let me know what you think guys and any kind of help will be immensely appreciated

1. Pokemon General or Pokemon Trivia seem like your best bets for the first one. You'll have to talk to the relevant mod/s there though. As you may have noticed, Brendino does a yearly favourite types competition where each type has its own poll for people to vote on.

2. Not quite sure whether this has a place on the forum board. You could of course use our blogs system to do it, however. (anyone else have any ideas for this one?)

3. You quiz idea seems most suitable to The Playground (or maybe even The Treehouse if you feel its not quite a game). Once again though, best to speak to the appropriate moderators :).

There probably isn't a problem with doing some of these things if you want, just make sure to run it by the sections' mods before you actually make the threads. Mana already mentioned the most likely places to put them, though the first one would depend on the themes you have planned. Anything Pokemon related would be best placed in Pokemon General or Pokemon Trivia, while non-Pokemon stuff would be better in the Treehouse, or it could even fit into one of the other sections on PC if the theme works well there. Like if one of the themes was music, you could potentially place that in General Entertainment instead.

Would you be able to tell us a little more about that one though?

The 2nd one almost sounds like this to me, though I may be kinda off on that.
