Pikachu or Shinx?

I always get myself a Pichu-in-an-egg in the knowledge that it will one day be a Raichu. 'Cause I totally crush on Raichus. They're too cute. :3
 
Luxray. Luxray, Luxray, Luxray.

I can't stand Pikachu, lol.
 
Shinx creeps me out to no end, though I couldn't give you anything but an aesthetic assessment of the two. :P

As for the evolved forms, well ... avatar. *whistles*
 
pikachu all the way. i mean, shinx is plain adorable, but it never gets any good moves til it evloves, and even then the moves arent as good. pikachu can learn thunder punch! thats just plain awesome
 
Shinx. Hands down. Shinx. Luxio. Luxray. All the way. Moving this to Pokemon General since it's a comparison that isn't really about the games.
 
Pichu is one of my favourite Pokémon so the mouse lineup wins just for that but... Shinx is adorable and I prefer it as an individual Pokémon over Pikachu. :x

As for which is stronger, well, Pikachu, I'd say. But final evolutions? Kinda depends what you want in a Pokémon. Luxray is probably the better PKMN over Raichu though.

I absolutely love the Shinx line, so it gets my vote. I caught one at the beginning of Diamond because I thought it was a common normal type. Then I opened up my menu and found out it was Electric! I'm glad that Platinum and HG/SS switched the order it learns Spark and Bite though. That was a necessary switch.

Honestly, I consider Shinx one of the Sinnoh starters, since it evolves at similar levels and has a parallel moveset. (I also consider Mareep one of the Johto starters.) I always start a new generation with a friend and get all three starters from the beginning anyway, so rarity doesn't concern me. My only gripe is that Luxray needed to be Electric/Dark. He permanently has one of Arceus's Dread Plates attached because of that.
 
Shinx was in my opinion, just Pokemon's lame attempt at a succesor to Pikachu. It was made super cute to be irresistable to the new demographic they had been getting.

I have and always will be a fan of Pikachu. Not only are they powerful, fast, and contain and Easter Egg, but they also are the mascot of the entire Pokemon series. They are globally recognized as Pokemon. I do admit that they have their disadvantages, but nonetheless.
 
If this was Pichu VS Shinx it would've been Pichu cause it's my favorite Pokemon. So currently it's Shinx = Pikachu due to me loving all electric types
 
In my opinion, Pikachu was the original cute Pokemon. In real life, I have a soft spot for mice - I find them endlessy cute so I will always say Pikachu is my favourite as it is based on a mouse. Not saying that there's anything wrong with Shinx. Not at all. I adore it, but Pikachu will always be my favourite just because of it's overwhelming cuteness.

If you want power, then I would still use Pikachu. Shinx is awesome with it's evolved forms - but for base forms, Pikachu's pretty good Special Attack and Speed overwhelms Shinx mediocre Attack.
 
I actually love the Shinx family as far as electric-types go, even if they are super slow. D:

...and the anticonformist in me has decided that the Pikachu family is too mainstream to be worth my affections. XD
 
Shinx isn't better than Pikachu until it evolves into Luxray. It's hard to choose between the two but if I had to pick I'd probably say Luxray. Raichu isn't so...spectacular :D
