HEROXD: The Pokecard company, that just talked to you, wasn't the real company!
HEROXD: That was me, I was testing you, the test was to see if you knew what to do when scammers contact you.

HEROXD: I posed as the Pokecard company. what you did when you gave me those 3 digits, you gave me your unique "card verification" number. If I had your credit card number (which real scammers already do) I would be able to use your charge card at any online or telephone retailer to buy anything I wanted.

HEROXD: So, here's what you should do if a caller asks for personal information, explain that you don't discuss your credit card unless you initiate the call. Then hang up, and call the 800 number on the back of your card to see if their story checks out.

HEROXD: so, yeah, that was the test.
 
HEROXD: well, you never know when a REAL scammer is trying to scam you
