Hmm, I think Piplup is a pretty cute pokemon, but I also find it a little annoying.
It later evolves to Empoleon so, that's what makes it awesome. O:
 
The best way to say it is i nothing piplup i dont like it i dont hate it
 
It's honestly the most annoying thing about the anime.

It tries way too hard to be the center of attention all the time, and it's a total waste of space, always trying to usurp the mascot status Pikachu holds. It's a total Scrappy to many of the anime's fandom, being seen as unnecessary. I hate its Japanese voice with a passion, as there's this certain irritating grit to it ("PO! POCHAAAMUH!").

It's just annoying, really. Can it and its trainer be put on a bus? Please?

Pardon? I'm suddenly "not allowed" (oh wait wut?) to post simply because you don't agree with an opinion that just happens to contradict yours? The majority of the replies to this thread, and the poll, don't exactly paint the picture that it's the most super-special-awesome thing liek evar...(and even the "meh" responses can be effectively translated as "ingame it's good; it's annoying as hell in the anime".

Which, by the way, I never outlined; Empoleon has awesome typing, resisting a type combination only one Pokemon (that Pokemon being Shedinja) resisted previously; Normal/Water. A lot of offensive stall sets that rely on two attacks will attempt to cover the bases by using Ghost/Fighting or Normal/Water for widespread neutral coverage. Empoleon is a big fat middle finger to that. Its movepool isn't the best (SubPetaya and the off Swords Dance set are rather predictable, but a 4x Steel resist makes it a hilarious switch-in to Scizor, especially if it's Choiced, fufufu~), but its typing is truly what makes it a standout Pokemon.

However, as a standalone species, Piplup is worthless. It only becomes useful once it gains its secondary type, and until then, I'm stuck thinking of the anime's Piplup, and how much of a spotlight stealer it is. >_>

Pengiuns are awesome. So is Piplup. It's not really a "girly" pokemon wants it starts evovling...
 
I dont hate it but its not one of my favorite pokemon. I didnt like any of Generation IV's starters. Out of the three my choice would be of Piplup. He's cute and all but there are other cuter pokemon in my opinion.
 
Well everyone has their own opion so I kinda see no point in this thread but...
Piplup and its evos are awesome. END OF STORY...
 
Piplup is a good pokemon, but sometimes it annoys me.
