Pirates of the Whirl Islands PG-17

Johnathan hitched up the pack he was carrying; he'd had to rush to somewhere else in town to get something he'd forgotten. The Gallade was walking at a fast pace, almost running, back to the pub where he'd signed up for The Revenge of the Sea. Who knew when the captain would come along?

The Revenge of the Sea. Johnathan smiled as he thought of what had happened. He knew he wanted revenge, and he'd very likely get it at sea. Seemed like a coincidence that the ship was thus named.

Looking back up from the ground, Johnathan saw the pub up ahead. Almost there, then he could drop the pack he'd been carrying. Bit heavy, it was. The gray-armed Gallade picked up his pace a little, now just barely running, and prepared to open the door of the bar.
At his pace, though, Johnathan couldn't stop as the door opened and someone stepped out. Oh, snap! he thought as he collided with the Blaziken.

Tonitrus had been sitting in a quiet corner of the bar, his tail flicking from side to side. He had not a coin to his name, least of all one to spend on rum. Besides, he wished to keep his wits about him; if accepted onto the Revenge Of The Sea, he'd want to make a well-informed judgement on his allies.
However, a man in a bar with no gold is no use to the bartender, and so Tonitrus was expecting to be thrown out in moments. His golden coat did nothing to aid his attempt to keep a low profile.

Any attention that was on him was quickly deflected as the door crashed open, a Blaziken in its frame.
"To all those who signed up for The Revenge of the Sea crew, pack up now and head to the ship. We're setting sail." The voice boomed out of the bird, commanding the attention of the rowdy bar. This man was a true captain.

Tonitrus held back, wishing to see what sort of crowd the Revenge had attracted. He watched silently as a Machamp challenged the Blaziken over spilt rum, and was suitably impressed with the efficient fighting skill of his new captain.

"My name is Captain Toro Blaze," The Blaziken announced. "I'm heading out, all those who signed up should follow."

Tonitrus nodded with approval before getting to his feet and following Toro Blaze out of the bar. The company that walked alongside him seemed perfectly able; he could practically smell the Silver Chest where he stood.

"So you think the six of you are ready to crew The Revenge of the Sea?" Toro asked his new crew.

The crew stood before him in a straight line. None of them knew what would happen at this moment. A Wartortle, Minun, Cacturne, Luxray, Zoark and a Gallade were Toro's new crew.

"It seems we're missing a crew member. No matter, no matter, we will find someone," Toro told the crew. "Now, off to your positions, gunners downstairs, Quartermasters and Boatswain on deck."

The crew took off into their positions while Toro climbed to the wheel to control the boat. The Wartortle released the boat from the mooring line and Toro brought the boat out off the port and into the open sea.

I think i shall take upon myself that position! XD

Name: Scorpio
Pokemon species: Gliscor
Gender: Male
Position: Gunner,
Appearance (Be descriptive or Picture):
[PokeCommunity.com] Pirates of the Whirl Islands PG-17

Personality (Be descriptive): Scorpio is very impatient and is easily annoyed. But that only gets him in the mood for more fight. He is nice and kind when he wants to be, but can be a monster when he wants to be too. He has always loved guns, explosives, explosions, IMPlosions and most of all, treasure. This Gliscor would do anything to get his claws on a nickel. However, he's not greedy. Scorpio only ever takes what he needs to. He leaves the rest for the greedy dogs. He dosen't ike getting insulted and provoked. He has a very short temper and is not afraid to attack anybody who annoys him. He is also a good tactician, before attacking someone, for example, he would try to find the person's weak point and use it against him. Rather than simply thrashing at the person. When manning a gun, he looks for a place where the opposing ship's wood might be eroded, broken or weak and fires.

History (Long and descriptive): Nobody knows Scorpio's real name. But everybody can guess it's not really his name. As a Gligar, he was raised as a poor commoner, going out every day to beg for a nickel, he had been doing this all his childhood, unfortunately getting less pitifull as he grew up. This is where the Gligar obtained his lust for treasure and decided he only took what he needed. On his eighteenth birthday, his parents managed to get him a Razor Fang. That night, the young Gligar became a Gliscor and flew off. To find a new life.
Years passed, he had been many things. Bounty hunter, raider, hitman, all sorts of things that got him money. Finally, he got word of the Silver Treasure. How that would pay off all his debts and make him rich. But he also heard of the perils, Lugia and its evil pirate ship. He thought becoming a Pirate might be fun anyway. So he flew over to the nearest dock and took a look at the roster. Good, a gunner. Finally a good use for his tactician and gun-firing skills. Without hesitation he signed up.
Moves (4 moves max): Ice Fang, Poison Jab, Night Slash, Guillotine.

Well, there you go.

William stood with the others in a straight line. He looked intently at the Captain.

"So you think the six of you are ready to crew The Revenge of the Sea?" William smiled as he stood now, eager for the upcoming adventure.

"It seems we're missing a crew member. No matter, no matter, we will find someone," Toro told the crew. "Now, off to your positions, gunners downstairs, Quartermasters and Boatswain on deck."

William nodded and release the rope of the boat from the mooring line. He then yelled at the others.

"Ye' heard the Captain! Man the rigging and prepare to overhaul! Hard Larboard! Get on deck, ye' scallywags!"

William made his way to the deck and accompanied the Captain next to the wheel. He nodded at him, and spoke.

"All's ready to heave ahead, Cap'n."

Kytes was unhappy. He had been ordered below decks, and he didn't want that. He had come here for adventure, not to be sucked out of sunlight underground.

Kytes had to find a way to remain above decks. maybe he could stay up and ask the Captain for permission? No, he was too shy. he couldn't maintain eye contact with the Blaziken.

Kytes looked at the other crew. They were all confident, tough people. And here was Kytes, nervous, weak and scared. "Perhaps I'm not cut out for this job...." He thought.

"No, I need to snap outta it. This is no time to lose self confidence." he thought.

He still had to find a way to stay above decks. He looked at Noxus, and a mischievous plan formed in his mind. He hid behind a barrel, and transformed into Noxus, taking every one of his details into mind.

He looked at his reflection in the water. "Not bad." he thought. "I look exactly like him!"

Confidence filled him, and he walked up to the Captain and mimicking Noxus's voice, said, "Noxus Lewis, Reporting for duty, Cap'n."

"All's ready to heave ahead, Cap'n." William told Toro.

"Aye then, we're off," Toro spoke.

Toro sailed the ship into the open sea. He wasn't watching the water, but his crew. Toro was sailing along when Noxus walked up the steps.

"Noxus Lewis, reporting for duty," he told Toro.

Something didn't seem right. He sent Noxus to the other side of the ship and he could see him working with Genghis. It was an impostor in front of him and he knew who it was.

"Back to your station Kytes," Toro told Kytes, who posed as Noxus.

Kytes walked back down the steps and back downstairs.

"William, tell the crew our next stop is Cherrygrove Port," Toro commanded.

The Commodore took off to tell the crew the news.

We'll stock up there and then set sail to Violet Port, Toro thought to himself.

As the crew continued down the water, Toro spotted a piece of wood with a Gliscor unconscious lying on top of it. Toro was a caring Pokemon, so he decided to help him.

"Sailors, we have a Pokemon unconscious in the water. Get him up here," Toro told the crew.

The crew hurried to the side of the boat I was looking at. The slowly climbed down and pulled him back up to the deck.

Captain Toro nodded and replied to William.

"Aye then, we're off,".

Sailing was calm for the most part. William took out his magnifying glass and looked around a bit. Nothing out of the ordinary. Perfect day for sailing. He noticed the Captain paying more attention to the crew than to the seas. He imagined he was trying to get a read on them. William had been doing the same thing, standing next to the Captain.

Suddenly, the Cacturne from before came up to them, and spoke.

"Noxus Lewis, reporting for duty,"

It was an odd thing to say, all of a sudden, when everyone had already been at their designated area beforehand. The Captain overturned his confusion.

"Back to your station Kytes," He said.

Ah, now I understand. Poor lad, probably doesn't want to be cooped up below deck, Will thought to himself.

Kytes headed off, and Toro spoke to William again.

"William, tell the crew our next stop is Cherrygrove Port," Toro commanded.

"Aye, Cap'n." He took a few steps down the wheel and shouted after the others on the crew.

"Hear now, ye' scallywags! We make for port in Cherrygrove! Stand ready!"

William observed the rest of their crew as they prepared and went about the ship. The Revenge of the Sea was truly a beautiful ship. William wondered how the Captain acquired it.

"Sailors, we have a Pokemon unconscious in the water. Get him up here," Toro told the crew.

William began to protest. "But Cap'n..." But he stopped himself. He was superstitious, and it was bad luck to pick up travelers, especially the marooned when making off on an adventure. Will shouted at the rest of the crew.

"Ye' heard the Cap'n, lads! Get that marooned on the deck!" The crew went over an began picking up the straggler.

"Lay your back into it!" William commanded again.

"Noxus Lewis, reporting for duty,"

Noxus was looking at the sea when he heard his name, and he turned, eyes narrowing as he saw another Cacturne standing before the captain.

"An imposter!" Noxus growled, raising his right arm, pointing his finger at the Cacturne, but then he stopped. Maybe he shouldn't kill this scallywag, since he might be a crew member messing around with his identity.

"Back to your station Kytes," The Blaziken said and Noxus snorted. The Zoroark, of course. Noxus wanted to scowl at him, but he didn't, as he didn't want to give the others a bad impression...yet. He was wondering if the carpenters could make him a proper pirate hat to replace the straw one, but he didn't want to ask now as they were busy.

"Man overboard?" Noxus looked into the water and saw a Gliscor being pulled up by the crew and he observed the unconscious Pokemon from top to bottom. What was he doing in the da*n water?

"Dammit." Kytes thought. He should have known. Toro was too sharp to fool. It had been a stupid plan from the beginning.

He was making his way downstairs, now in his Zoroark form. he was trying his best to avoid stares, and his shiny form gave off glitters.

He stopped when he heard William the First Mates voice boom from above, "Hear now, ye' scallywags! We make for port in Cherrygrove! Stand ready!"

Cherrygrove, huh? Kytes took out his town map from his backpack which he had bought in New Bark Port. He had bought more stuff too, like the town map, some berries, a few TMs, a journal and some money. one might have thought he was going for backpacking rather than at sea, but he was well prepared, and also inexperienced in the ways of the world.

Anyways, Kytes searched for Cherrygrove in the map and found it was very close to New Bark. "We'll be there quite soon." He thought.

He must have zoned out for a moment, because when he looked up, he saw the crew pulling a Pokemon out of the water. Kytes decided to help, and transforming into a Machamp, pulled the Gliscor out of the water all by himself, and put him on the deck gently. he transformed back into Zoroark, looked and him, and yelled, "He needs medical attention, now!"

Tonitrus prowled along the deck as the First Mate released the boat. He could sense that the crew were all trying to get an understanding of each other. Understandable of course, as they may be looking for this chest for many years to come.
His role here was to ensure efficiency, but there wasn't much to do as they set sail. He paced the deck, hearing the First Mate announce that they were to land in Cherrygrove Port; not too far from here, as Tonitrus understood it.

Mere moments after they'd left port, the Captain had spotted something overboard the opposite side of the ship. The Zoroark had scooped it out by the time Tonitrus had even got there, and so he arrived to see a Gliscor lying feebly on the wood. It was in a pretty bad shape.

Tonitrus knelt at its side to listen for its breath. The Gliscor was still alive, but barely.
"Sitrus berries, Cap'n. Are there any on board?"

Kytes watched frantically, as he waited for somebody to show up to heal the Gliscor. he saw as the Boatswain, the Luxray called Tonitrus, approached the Gliscor.

He didn't know what to do. Tonitrus checked the Gliscor's breath, and then asked for Sitrus berries.

Kytes thought about giving his Sitrus berries. He opened up his backpack, and took out his berry pouch. He handed it to Tonitrus and said, "Um, there are some in this. Will they do?"

Tonitrus nodded his thanks at the Zoroark as he passed a pouch of berries to him. An honest pirate? This really was the ship for him.

Without hesitation, Tonitrus removed the Sitrus berries from the bag. He crushed one into a fine powder with his paw and placed it into the Gliscor's gaping mouth. He then propped the Pokemon up against the side of the deck and tilted its head to prompt swallowing.

The crew waited with baited breath for the Gliscor to revitalise, but nothing happened. Tonitrus growled for more, and did the same again. They waited patiently to see if the berries had done the trick...

Genghis being mute for a while looked around the deck. As he was only on a boat twice now, he was in awe and suffered a culture shock at the same time due to its exotic design (as his region wasn't near any ocean at all).

When the news of a Gliscor overboard reached the barbarian's ears, he ran to the to direction where the crew already went to. When the Minun saw the Gliscor, he didn't show a worried expression although he, like the rest of the crew is worried about the Pokemon. It was part of his culture to not to show worrying or other "weak" emotions to strangers. He watched as the crew of the ship attempt to save the life.

OK, then. Let's start.

Scorpio was late! Too late! The ship was taking off! He had signed up to be the final member of the crew that governed the "Revenge of the sea" ship. But it was sailing off. He glided after it, but it was a rather fast ship. Just as he was about to make it, a Pidgeot stood in his way. "What do YOU want?" he grumbled. This Pidgeot was an old aquaintance, and someone that Scorpio owed money to. "Scor, you know what i want. Where's me money?" he said. "I don't have it yet. I was about to join the crew-" but Scorpio's explanation was interupted by the Pidgeot. "Scor, Scor, Scor. I've given you a week and it is up. Now you die." he said. Suddenly a whole flock of Fearow appeared. "Oh-" but before he could finish, Scorpio was swarmed. Two Fearow were circling him in case he tried to get away. Unfortunatly, day was not the time when Scorpio preferred to work, but he had woken himself early so he could join the crew. Because he hadn't slept much, he was very weak.
The other Fearow attacked him. Using moves like Drill Peck and Sky Attack. This was very devestating to the Gliscor. Finally, after trying to fend them al off, he fainted and fell to the sea.

A while later, he awoke. On a piece of floating wood, what luck. He had made it on there. The last thing he remembered was falling. "Hmmm, hmmmm, hmm....hmmm." mumbled Scorpio. He couldn't hold on. He drifted off.

Later, he awoke to find a funnily colored Zoroark and Luxray seemingly treating him. He must've been injured, but who were these people? Slowly he got up, "Wha- where am...I?" he said wearily. He felt his wing, it seemed to hurt agonizingly. "D-did i break my wing?" he asked the other Pokemon in the room. Looking around, he could see wood walls, floor and roof. Suddenly the building rocked and he thought he could hear Wingull. "Am-am I on a ship?"

After what felt like an age, the Gliscor regained consciousness. Relief flooded Tonitrus, but he was careful not to let it show.
"Wha- where am I?" The rescued Gliscor asked, looking around in bewilderment. "D-did I break my wing? Am-am I on a ship?"

Tonitrus nodded in response to the Gliscor's last question. Now that he had assured the Gliscor was okay, he got to his feet silently and walked towards Captain Blaze.

"The Gliscor is conscious, Captain. His wing appears to be broken, I can't see him flying for quite some time."

Tonitrus inclined his head slightly in respect before striding to the bow of the ship. The salty air whipped his face and he almost smiled, wondering why he'd never considered the sea life before.

So it seemed that Scorpio was on a ship...which ship? He got up and stood on his legs, luckily the supported him just enough for him to be able to stand. He looked around more, there was the Zoroark and the Luxray, who was heading back to the bow. He walked a few steps, being carefull not to overdo it. His tail was dreary, Scorpio had to drag it across the floor, for it felt like a heavy weight.
The sun blinded him for a moment, he hated the sight of it. He preffered the soothing moonlight. He then opened his eyes to find the crew of this ship, wandering over the deck. There was a Cacturne, a Wartortle, a Minun and some others working on board. He looked to the side, the refreshing sea wind was blowing in his face. The sea was decently calm today, with a bit of rocking now and then. He looked to his other side, exactly the same thing. This ship was a little like the description that Scorpio had received of the Revenge Of The Sea. The ship he had signed up to be a crew member of. He walked a few more steps, carefull not to lose his balance, and looked up. No doubt this was a ship, and a vast one at that. The sails were high and all. "This be one mighty ship" Scorpio thought to himself. Slowly but steadily, he advanced. Looking from left to right. Then, he could make out a red figure, this was a Blaziken. Captain Toro Blaze? This WAS the revenge of the sea.

"Uh...Umm.....W-Welcome to the Revenge of the Sea!" Kytes said to the Gliscor.

"Whats your name?" he asked him.

It seemed the Sitrus Berries had worked. He put the berry pouch back into his backpack, and made sure to make a note of buying some more at Cherrygrove.

He didn't know what to do. The Gliscor was very weak, and not even able to stand properly. Kytes put an arm around the Gliscor's shoulder and said, "You should probably rest. I'll take you to the quarters."

Scorpio went to sit back down, then, the Zoroark from before, extended a hand to him. "Thank you." he replied. "The Revenge Of The Sea? Good, i made it. I was originally signed up here to be a gunner when an "old friend" interupted me....." said Scorpio, sarcastically. The Zoroark seemed friendly. Then he asked for his name. "My name's a secret, only my most trusted friends know it. Everyone else calls me Scorpio. Pleased to meet ya." he said, extending a claw to the Zoroark. "Err..i don't believe you and i can shake hands with me claws, they might pinch you." he chuckled, retracting his claw. "I'm sorry to worry ye all at this time. I was knocked out of the air by a gangster and his cronies, I be lucky to be alive. I was supposed to be here when you took off but i overslept, you see us Gliscor like to hang around at night." he said, squinting at the sun. "I was about to catch up to you when that gangster, Roni the Pidgeot, intervened. As i said before, i was knocked out of the air and must've thrown onto that log. Thank ye for fishing me up." he finished. He was very gratefull towards the crew that he was now a part of. And was very lucky to be alive.
