I don't know if it's even possible but is there any way you could apply battle AI to the player character in any Pokemon game. So it kinda becomes like a management game.

Well, in Emerald, the battle palace has it so that your pokemon act on their own in accordance to their nature. Maybe you could use that to do what you're trying to do. I don't quite understand what you want to do, so I don't know if this is helpful, but hopefully it is.

That could work but the Battle Palace AI isn't very smart compared to the trainer AI which is what I would prefer to have applied to the player character.

I've got no experience here, but I'm thinking if you can take a look at the code for black/white or any of the other games where the professor or another npc shows you how to capture a pokemon you may find something helpful.

Since it sounds like you want full control of the character outside of battle.
After that maybe create some scripts for use in battle to decide how/when to use any items you have.

    Hope that helps.
