Hello guys, slightly stupid question here, but I seem to have lost track of my main character (Red). Whenever I select "Players Starting Position" I can play the game but I have no character to move around with! Hhah, I can still move around, I just don't have a character! Any solutions?

I'm gonna guess you're new to Pokémon Essentials. On the intro map there's the Player starting position and an autorun event with a script that creates your character. When you set the Player's Starting Position out of this map you can't see your character because he isn't created yet. At the bottom of the autorun event, there's a Transfer player command click on that and set the point where you want to be.

Well I put the players starting position after editing the Intro and im still having a ghost character walk around...

And yes, I am very new to Essentials. I tried to update to the 6th gen "battlers" pack and that's were everything went wrong :/

So, if I understand you correctly, you edited the intro and then set you player position? If you did that, you will have the same problem. The intro script and the starting point must be in the same map. This is why you are better off leaving the starting point alone and simple having your character warp to the map you want. Here are some pictures to help you out, just in case.

    Spoiler:

I do hope this helps you a bit. If not, be a little more specific or give us some screenshots or something. We can better help you if we know exactly what you did.

Please note that there are two events in that map. The top left one is the proper intro, with Oak showing up and saying things and asking if you're a boy or a girl. The bottom left one is the debug intro, as it says, which is just for quick-starting the game while you're still making it, and is not intended for use in the final game.

Both events have a Transfer Player command in them, and Seth's instructions still apply to them. Changing the coordinates that this command sends you to is how you are supposed to change the player's starting location.

The wiki has a lot of useful information. Although you really should only be using Essentials once you know how to use RMXP.

Hello, I am using essentials V18.1 and I am having an issue with a invisible main character. What happened was, I was experimenting with the "start over" script by placing it in a event and setting it to auto run where the character would begin his adventure from. Just to clarify, I changed nothing in the script itself, just placed it in a event. When I selected "New Game" the protagonist became invisible. I deleted the autorun event, but the actor still could not be seen.
The only other guess I have is that the laptop I'm using has a bit of a habit of auto clicking randomly. Think that might help somewhat?
